Yesterday, I had the opportunity to join several of the BASF Pharma Solutions technical team at DissoAmerica 2026, held by the US Chapter of the Society for Dissolution Science. It was a great conference with presentations by top scientists from leading pharmaceutical companies and a very informative session by the US FDA. A real highlight for me was the excellent presentation by Sandip Tiwari, BASF (pictured) on Bioavailability Correlations in Lipid-Based formulations

🔷 Kollicoat® Experience Center Workshop | BASF Innovation Campus, Mumbai On June 9th, we hosted an engaging Kollicoat® Experience Center workshop at the Global Applications Lab, BASF Innovation Campus, Mumbai, together with our valued partner Transchem Corporation Pharma Pvt Ltd. Designed as a highly interactive, application-driven session, the workshop brought together formulation experts to explore modern film coating technologies and their practical implementation. We’re pleased to share highlights from our recent technical seminar, “Enabling Differentiated Formulations with Key Functional Excipients”, held in Shanghai. More than 50 pharmaceutical scientists joined us for in-depth discussions and exchanges with experts from BASF Pharma Solutions. The seminar featured valuable insights on modified-release technologies, solubilization strategies and digital formulation design. Highlights included practical perspectives from Umakanth Kanna, Head of Technical Services - Asia Pacific, on solutions for sustained-release formulations, as well as insights from Dr. Xungui He, Chief Scientist & Deputy General Manager of 2Y-Chem, a renowned CRO in China, who shared ASD strategies for NCE formulation development featuring Soluplus®. Our Technical Services team, including kai zhuang, Manager – Technical Services and Application, shared case studies on HME using the Kollicoat® MAE series, and presented additional topics, including solubilization approaches and ZoomLab®, our digital platform for drug product development.
