When I look back, it’s not job titles, presentations or KPIs that come to my mind first. It’s the people, experiences, opportunities and all those little moments along the way. So I thought about what where my personal 20 Best Ofs from the last 2 decads years with Lufthansa Group and it was really fun reliving all these memories and special moments in my mind once again. 1. My first yellow Lufthansa ID badge: Starting at AQS, a tiny LAT subsidiary with just six employees and a real start-up feeling. Small team, big ambitions and I was incredibly proud of that yellow badge. 2. Planspiel Börse: Where I met one of my closest friends, still by my side today. 3. Explorers Gen 9: A special community and a chapter I’ll always remember. 4. Being part of business@school for many years: Sharing experience, supporting young talents and getting inspired by their ideas and entrepreneurial spirit. 5. Summer mornings cycling to work from Sachsenhausen with colleagues with a wonderful view on our airplanes. 6. Completing 10 Freunde Triathlons with LAT colleagues – and sharing quite a few memorable finish lines. 7. From pumps to sneakers: A small symbol of how much working life have changed over the past 20 years. 8. My very first exhibition as 24-year-old in Abu Dhabi: completely new world for me AND my very first flight in business class. 9. The legendary LAT ski trips: The right place to be in January - Ich fühl mich Disko. 10. Our team event in the snow: Some of the best team moments happened far away from meeting rooms. 11. Flying a flight simulator: One of those experiences that makes working for an airline pretty special. 12. Becoming a certified lifeguard so I could supervise crews during their emergency water landing training. Definitely one of the more unexpected “job tasks” of my career. 13. Mental health during Covid: Running workshops with my wonderful colleague on topics close to my heart: stress management, resilience, and mental health. 14. Working despite covid very close with colleagues: of course we stick to the 2m rule 😉 15. The Escape Room Truck: Still one of my favorite projects we brought to live in our marketing department. 16. The Allegris Truck: Years later, another project that made marketing tangible and brought our product directly to our customers. 17. Flying to Tokyo on a Lufthansa Cargo freighter: A truly unique aviation experience with the Northern Lights on the horizon 18. Countless Carnival parties at Lufthansa HV: Great costumes, great people and not too many memories 😉 19. Moderating our big annual Sales Kick-Off together with my colleague. 20. Visiting Tomorrowland: One of those unforgettable experiences. Looking back, I feel incredibly grateful for the last 20 years and I look forward to the chapters still to come. 🙏🏼

Before we say a single word, our posture, movement and facial expression are already part of the message. Your words might say: “I’m open to ideas.” Your body might say: “Please don’t challenge me.” One exercise from Michael Chekhov’s work makes this very tangible: the Psychological Gesture. The idea is to translate an intention into a clear physical gesture. To reach. To push away. To protect. To invite. At first, you make the movement big. Almost exaggerated. Then you slowly reduce it while trying to keep its inner impulse. What stays when the visible movement becomes smaller? I thought about this in situations where I pitch an idea. I might genuinely want to invite discussion and feedback, and when my posture is open, my arms are relaxed and my voice is calm, that intention comes across much more clearly. Because the same sentence can have a completely different impact depending on how we enter the room, how grounded we are and whether our body supports what we want to communicate. For me, this is not about performing confidence. It is about becoming aware of what my body is already communicating and whether it matches my intention. Can you spot what I could have done better with my posture? 😉

Being at the heart of customer loyalty for Lufthansa Group, the focus was all about translating that loyalty into a scalable content library that drives consistency, strengthens visual identity, and unlocks months of usable assets. That meant designing a more elevated look, with clear guidelines for the content: warmer tones, approachable moments, and a stronger focus on real people and expressions. Consistent, but never rigid. 💡 Our Oscars Henar, Gustavo R., Alphonce Patrick, Marinus, Pat, and Eva kicked things off where loyalty naturally comes to life for many travellers: the lounges. With the backdrop of Zurich and Munich they built a mix of scenarios that could live across campaigns, channels, and formats, always with scalability in mind, never just the moment in front of the camera. And behind the scenes, Riya, Karyna, Christina, and Özge brought it all together through the final edit of the footage and assets. Shoot once, now it works everywhere. That’s the content library effect. ✨

Employment for workers ages 22-25 in the most AI-exposed occupations, software development, marketing, customer service, is now shrinking at over 4% per year, up from a 2.8% decline just 2 years ago. Meanwhile, employment for workers 30 and over in those same high-exposure fields grew 6-12% over the same period. The jobs are disappearing overall. Total employment keeps growing, actually. The distance is opening up specifically at the entry point, while experienced workers are holding steady or expanding. Although one of the festivals’ key functions is to add value, few academics have carried out empirical research on festival prizes and prestige. In this article we aim to contribute to the understanding of film festivals as a network of cultural capital by reconstructing what happens behind the scenes of the Joris Ivens competition of the International Documentary Film…
With a commitment to artistic excellence film festivals are set apart from regular exhibition venues and commercial interests. Although one of the festivals’ key functions is to add value, few academics have carried out empirical research on festival prizes and prestige. In this article we aim to contribute to the understanding of film festivals as a network of cultural capital by reconstructing what happens behind the scenes of the Joris Ivens competition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, analyzing, among others, jury reports and interviews with jurors. In our analysis we draw attention to the various subjective and contingent elements in the selection process as well as to the influence of the festival context in setting (expert) evaluation standards. We identify recurring elements in the jury deliberations and, following our findings, argue that festivals are not mere barometers of changing norms, but forces that drives, shape and legitimize change.
