Our country is in a crisis. An illegal president has committed more than 3,000 undemocratic actions in the first 18 months of his administration. Checks and balances are compromised (the Supreme Court) and failing (Congress). The way to any future at all — an affordable future, a future that respects human rights, a future that treats all people as equals under the law — requires the renewal of the pact between the government and the govern. We need a government that is by the people, and for the people. They should take their oath of office seriously and follow the Constitution even when it is not politically advantageous for their party. They should, in short, have courage.
The citizens are pursuing impeachment because that is what the Constitution demands. Congress needs a spine to make that happen and we’re going to give it to them.
