I often comment on how blockbusters seem to be relying on Z-tier hallmark movie screenwriters lately and I guess the reason for this is maybe that the minecraft movie was like a sort of Normandy landing for screenwriters

Despite the conditions, Gazan university students are still pursuing their degrees via remote learning.
This is particularly tricky due to scarce internet access, insufficient power to operate their devices, as well as unavailability of spaces in which to study.
Mahmoud @ma7moudgaza2 is one such student, and he decided to start a campaign to support fellow students in Gaza. It is now live at @isnadgaza.
Isnad (Arabic for “support”) has the following goals:
Cover the rent of a study room for 15 students.
Provide consistent power supply to 15 students.
Obtain any additional necessities, such as stationery.

It’s so weird to me when people are like ‘but that will cost the government money!’ So what? They’re the government, they’re supposed to be spending money. What, you want them to take your tax dollars and then do nothing with it? Lock it all up in a big government vault and just look at it? Why are you so scared of giving a third grader lunch or a homeless person a house.

and it feels very much like a product of this thing where the majority of people cannot ever conceptualize fatphobia or fat politics as legitimate or really anything beyond a meanness/bullying issue that can be solved with a couple language tweaks and one plus size runway show a year. it’s great that you know not to be actively vitriolic towards fat people, but if you’re still calling us “overweight” and talking about the “"obesity epidemic”“ and justifying our presence in the world only through the fact that losing weight and keeping it off is difficult so we should really be pitied instead of hated, you’re still moralizing around our bodies and positing them as a problem!
