So this summer, instead of trying to make him like it, we built our own. 👇 It's called MineGymi. We named it at our vacation home kitchen table. The material from school was the usual: thick folders stuffed with worksheets, no feedback loop, and nothing that felt equally "nice to look at" like the games he actually wanted to spend time on. By week three of the summer, he was avoiding it, and I was one nagging session away from becoming the parent I swore I'd never be. 🫠 So we sat down together. My partner, my son, me, and Claude. We assigned CPO, CTO, Lead Engineer, and CEO/CSO roles. (Guess which one's mine, and which one's Andy Schneider's... 😁) A few weeks of "meetings", vibe-coding , testing, and iterating later, we had a working thing: small units, instant feedback, gamified enough that he opens it on his own now. Two things I didn't expect: He stopped resisting practice (which was the point). But he also started asking business questions: "What, others could use this, too?" "And then that is a customer?" "Why would someone pay for this?" "How much would that be?" We've had more conversations about product-market fit over pasta than some founders have with their board. 🍝🤐 We didn't keep it to ourselves but gave it to his classmates for free first. Then continued mentioning it to other parents when they shared their current burden of Gymi prep. And just like that, MineGymi has its first paying users now, and almost 10 kids use it to learn consistently and like it (more than the paper folders, at least 😅). We don't even know all of them personally, or how they found the app. Here's the part I keep pondering about, thinking about the founders I work with: The tools that let a 6th-grader ship a paid product over a summer holiday with his parents are the same ones reshaping what your team can do this quarter. Not in six months when the roadmap catches up. Now. Here's what building it in the open is teaching me: (And yes, the tool is real. Data insights below. Not making this up.) Quick refresh for anyone new here: ppl.intelligence is the "people diagnostic" I am building to score a startup's People & Culture readiness across 60+ indicators. One diagnostic per company. Run it across a portfolio, and you get a heat map and concrete intervention plan instead of a pile of anecdotes. Here's what founders seeing their custom plans so far are telling me: "I thought comp was our biggest problem. Turns out it's the fourth." That's the whole value in one line: You were about to spend three months building a compensation model while the data says the culture foundation underneath it isn't there yet, so the comp model would fall apart within six months max anyway. 🫠 Here's what the dataset now shows across the 22 companies I've diagnosed: The same handful of gaps keep appearing. 100% handle team legal and HR issues ad-hoc. 87% handle everyday people issues ad-hoc. 78% treat pay as taboo. 61% have zero development plans. 57% give only infrequent manager feedback. Andy Schneider hat dies geteiltThe daily fight over exam prep made me build an app. Suddenly, my son has cofounded a business. 🤯 personal post: My son is preparing for the Langzeitgymi, the entrance exam that decides in Zurich whether you get into an academic-track high school. One exam, one morning, in March 2027. Over the summer holidays we took his paper prep material and vibe coded it into an app. He named it MineGymi. He was CPO and customer zero: he decided what stayed, what was boring, and what was too easy. My wife Carolin ran the business side with him: pricing, costs, sales, customers. 41 days in. 410+ tasks solved. Ten a day, voluntarily, in summer. The mechanic that made it work: The app gives him daily four unique exam-format tasks. He solves them on paper with a pencil like in the real exam, photographs his solution, and gets direct feedback on how he got there, not just on whether the answer was right. Then it left our vacation bungalow. His friends started training on it. He has his first paying customers. Target: a MacBook Neo, self-financed. Vibe coded, but not blindly shipped. I ran the codebase through a modified ARTEMIS harness (kudos to Stanford University) with four frontier models and verified the findings at runtime. Minimal data, faces on pictures are rejected, everything deletable. I still have mixed feelings about the #AI race. It feels unstoppable and sometimes out of control. That's why I believe security needs to be baked in and may not come after the fact. But watching my son go from idea to product to first revenue in six weeks tells me something about what the next generation will simply take for granted. Thanks Mattia, my son is the real hero. It's not easy for a 11y old to understand the complexity of business, have fun outside and enjoy summer and prepare for an exam that is months away.
For me it's a great hook and excuse to spin up claude code, the harness and build something that actually someone needs 😉

I stopped using it on any of my projects where the word security might appear in the repo and significantly reduced my overall usage - favoring GPT-5.6 Sol and GLM 5.3. As a result of my self censorship, I had a perfect week with Claude. Not a single false positive refusal. Did I learn that my experience with Claude is best when I don't use it as much? I am somewhat confused about the takeaway here.
