Craig Moroney shared thisIt's been an emotional month as I prepare to finish up at the BioWare studio and transition back to working remotely. Today, I walked through the quiet halls of a studio that was once so full of creativity, passion and energy. It felt bizarre, yet incredibly tragic at the same time. There's something quite surreal about seeing a place that holds so many fond memories, experiences and moments of creative collaboration fall so quiet and empty It truly feels like a chapter of life's book is closing, not just for me, but for so many of us. I'll always be grateful for the people, the experiences and the memories made along the way. Some of the games may have fallen short of expectations, but nobody can deny the creative mark BioWare has left on the industry. It will forever be an iconic name in gaming.

Craig Moroney shared thisI saw a post from a colleague recently reflecting on his career, and it got me thinking. As I get older, some parts of me click, (literally sounding like Rice Krispies when I walk) , while other parts of me are beginning to show a few signs of wear and tear, especially the spinkles of grey hair!! Yet despite the passing years, I still feel the same passion as what I had when I was young and I still love this industry. Is that such a bad thing? So, I decided to take a look back at my own journey. Every game in my career, represents years of hard work, collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, countless late nights, more than a few choice swear words and probably around 70000 hours worth of game development! But when I look back, what stands out most isn't the games themselves—it's the people. The teams I've had the privilege to work alongside. The colleagues who inspired me, challenged me, those who helped shape both my career and my life. The friendships that have lasted a lifetime, the lessons learned and the memories I'll always carry with me. I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent my career working alongside some of the most talented people in the world. Looking back fills me with pride, gratitude, and excitement! #GameDevelopment #VFX #Gaming #realtime

Craig Moroney posted thisWell it looks like I have been affected by the tragic circumstances in this industry, Sadly the studio I work for is closing, we were working on something special and I am truly gutted for the project and team. This means I will be looking for a new role specifically for VFX in games, I currently reside in Canada and would be grateful for any opportunities far and wide #vfx #gamesindustry #realtimevfx #games

Craig Moroney liked thisCraig Moroney liked thisOur company gives out challenge coins after each project. This project was the most challenging of the games Ive worked on hands down. Its a really cool momento and the design is sick. Luke Preece's design made this one special. Thanks The Coalition Studio and the team for making a game we can all be proud of. Special thanks to Venessa "Vee" Nyarko, Aryan Hanbeck, Matt Searcy and Jarret Bradley for keeping me somewhat sane through it all 😀. #vidogames #gearsofwar #thecoalition

Craig Moroney liked thisCraig Moroney liked thisAlas another great actor has left the stage and screens, big and small, for the great beyond. Sir Patrick Stewart passed away yesterday at age 86. I had the privilege of appearing on a two-part episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. My “role” was really a glorified extra with one line of Klingon dialogue. Mr. Stewart took the time during a filming break to chat with me for a bit. He was quite gracious and gentlemanly to me as he sipped from a cup of Earl Grey tea. May he rest in peace.

I only met him a couple of times, but one couldn’t help but feel the presence of nobility when with him. God rest Sir Patrick’s beautiful soul. #RIP #PatrickStewart

Creating a believable explosion isn’t about pressing buttons in Houdini, it’s about understanding energy, story, and design. In our latest event, Greg B. broke down what really goes into building an explosion that feels real, the timing, the light, the motion, the intent behind every frame. He even shared how AI tried to fake one… and why it completely missed the point. Big thanks to Greg and Think Tank Training Centre for lifting the curtain on what true VFX artistry looks like. 🎥 The full recording is now available to watch, link in the comments.

Tendril Studio collaborated with the team at FX Networks on the Clio award -winning campaign for Alien: Earth. Tendril Studio's role centred on the hero promo film Gestation, extending the mythology and building a bridge between practical creature work and digital worldbuilding. The goal was invisible craft. You should never know where reality ends, and CG begins. 👽 Check out the case study in the comments.

"I almost quit." It’s something we hear from a lot of students at some point — sometimes before they start, sometimes halfway through the program, sometimes when they’re building their portfolio and wondering if they’re good enough. One of the questions we get all the time from prospective students is: “What does the path into the industry actually look like?” So we’re starting a new alumni interview series here atThink Tank Training Centre. Over the years, our graduates have gone on to work in VFX, games, animation, and digital art all over the world, and we want to share more of the real stories behind that journey — not just the finished reels. These are simple, honest conversations with working alumni about: • what the training was like • when things felt the hardest • how they built their portfolio • how long it took to get hired • what the industry is actually like Most of these interviews will be around 10 minutes long so you can hear the full story, and we’ll also be sharing shorter clips from each conversation. First interview coming soon. #ThinkTankTrainingCentre #ThinkTankAlumni #TheRookies #VFX #GameDev #Animation #3DArtist #Portfolio #CreativeCareer

R&D doesn't stop for a blizzard. ❄️🚀 It’s #TestTuesday at Ignite SFX, and we’re putting our gear to the ultimate "real-world" test. Why shovel snow when you have high-pressure air cannons? We’re testing three levels of "Snow Clearing" tech: 1️⃣ The Leaf Blower – The suburban standard. 2️⃣ The SFX Bazooka – Portable power for the film set. 3️⃣ Large Air Cannon – Industrial-strength snow deletion. At Ignite, we build gear to perform in any climate—whether it's for a cinematic battlefield or a 6-inch snowdrift. Which one would you choose for your driveway? 👇 #IgniteSFX #Engineering #SpecialEffects #TestTuesday #AirCannon #PracticalEffects #WinterTesting
