Johanna Laface shared thisThis is what it’s all about 🙌🏼🙌🏼 Choosing a school for your daughter is so important. School plays such a big part in shaping her and how she values herself, what she believes she is capable of and feeling safe to challenge the stats quo and follow her dreams. A school that embraces a woman’s desire to question “why can’t I do what the boys do?” A question we want her to keep asking through every gender challenge life throws at her in her learning and working career. Choosing Loreto Normanhurst was a no brainer for us, its not just a slogan on a bus. When our daughter said she was joining school girl rowing through Loreto Normanhurst, we knew we were in for something massive. After two years I can say, I am proud to see how my daughter has grown and is proudly following in the footsteps of the courageous, driven, determined young women who were pivotal in the beginning of NSW school girl rowing. 💙💛 https://lnkd.in/g68yviuFRevolutionising Rowing: From a Simple Question to a Powerful Legacy | ABC AustraliaRevolutionising Rowing: From a Simple Question to a Powerful Legacy | ABC Australia

Johanna Laface liked thisJohanna Laface liked thisAfter 24 ½ incredible years, I recently said goodbye to Woolworths Group. It's hard to distil a nearly 25-year career into one post. It started on the shop floor in fruit and veg where an unexpected passion for retail was sparked - the pride of shopkeeping, a love of fresh food, and a genuine buzz from serving customers. It was a privilege spending nearly 20 of those years in the Commercial Team within Woolworths Supermarkets, leading large fresh food categories and partnering with suppliers to deliver for customers. Over the last 2 ½ years in Woolworths Group's Sustainability function, I’m proud of helping build more resilient, sustainable agri-food supply chains – managing risk while protecting and growing long term value. Along the way, I’ve travelled the country, spending time in stores, and on farms and in factories with our suppliers. I’ve enjoyed developing fresh food products, being part of new store openings, filming TV commercials, presenting on stage at events and helping mentor some of the next generation of leaders in the business. Thank you to the many colleagues, mentors and leaders – old and new – who over the years have trusted, challenged and backed me. I leave with gratitude for the many opportunities, the chance to make an impact, and for the incredible people I’ve met along the way (including my wife, and many now life-long friends). So, what’s next? After a short break, I’m excited to bring 25 years of commercial and category leadership to a new challenge – ideally one at the intersection of commercial strategy and sustainable business. If you’re working on something in that space, I’d love to compare notes.

"Staying across emerging HR trends, and reflecting on our role in shaping the future of work, is critical for all practitioners, in all sectors" We are looking forward to attending the AHRI National Convention & Exhibition 2026 on 25 June and joining HR leaders, practitioners and industry experts from across Australia to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of work. The pace of change facing organisations today is unprecedented. AI, workforce transformation, shifting employee expectations and increasing demands for organisational agility are reshaping how we think about leadership, capability and performance. "The Talent Ecology team is passionate about working with the hr ecosystem of industry, members, and business leaders to strengthen the impact of our profession and help close the gap between changing workforce demands and organisational capability" Josette Moffatt If you're attending, we'd love to connect, exchange ideas and discuss how we can collectively shape the future of work. #AHRI2026 #AHRIConvention #FutureOfWork #HRLeadership #PeopleAndCulture #WorkforceTransformation #Leadership #OrganisationalDevelopment #AI #Culture #AHRI #HumanResources

Johanna Laface liked thisJohanna Laface liked this#RealTalk - Let’s talk about what work–life balance really looks like… Work–life balance isn’t always about Pilates at sunrise or perfectly structured routines. Sometimes it’s showing up to lead, make decisions, and stay steady while your personal life is throwing every possible challenge at you. This week reminded me that balance isn’t a calm environment — it’s a skill. Some days you’re navigating complex work conversations. Some days you’re managing personal situations that demand more than you expected. Some days you’re doing both at once and hoping the wheels stay on. What I’m learning is that balance isn’t about perfection. It’s about resilience, boundaries, and giving yourself permission to be human while you lead. If you’re carrying a lot right now — professionally, personally or both — and still showing up with integrity, that’s real strength- be proud of yourself 💪

When an employee makes a covert recording in the workplace, the immediate HR response is often to focus on the legality and admissibility of the tape. While these are critical considerations under the NT's Surveillance Devices Act, it's a mistake to stop there. Think about the 'why'. Why did the employee feel that a secret recording was their only option? Often, it signals a significant breakdown in trust and psychological safety. It suggests that formal channels for raising concerns are perceived as ineffective, that there's a fear of not being believed, or that the power imbalance feels so great that they need irrefutable proof to be heard. Instead of only viewing the recording as a piece of evidence to be managed, see it as a cultural red flag. It points to a potential lack of open dialogue, poor management communication, or a history of unaddressed issues. While you navigate the legal complexities of the recording itself, use it as a powerful data point. It’s an opportunity to ask deeper questions about your workplace environment. Addressing the root cause of why an employee felt the need to press 'record' is fundamental to building a healthier, more transparent culture.
