If you’ve helped organisations transform and redesign how they work, not just who they hire, I’d love to have a confidential conversation. Or if someone in your network immediately springs to mind, I’d really appreciate an introduction.

Ahmed (AJ) Jarrar reacted on thisAhmed (AJ) Jarrar reacted on thisProject Managers don't drive change. They drive projects. Somewhere along the way, businesses started expecting one person to run the plan AND convince the business AND champion adoption AND magically produce the ROI. That's not a PM. That's three jobs wearing one lanyard. PM = gets the project to the finish line. Business lead = gets the business to actually want to cross it. Skip the business lead and here's the plot twist nobody saw coming: → Project goes live → Nobody adopted it → PM gets blamed for "value" they were never resourced to deliver You wouldn't ask your pilot to also sell the tickets. Same energy. Name a business lead before kickoff, not after the wheels fall off. #projectmanagement #change #businesslead

Ahmed (AJ) Jarrar liked thisAhmed (AJ) Jarrar liked thisFifteen months ago, we set out to replace one of the most complex platforms in the business: payroll. Today, it's done. I'm proud to share the successful completion of the News Corp Australia Payroll Replacement Program. In May, we successfully transitioned all employees from legacy payroll platform onto Dayforce, delivering one of the organisation's most significant people, payroll, and technology transformation initiatives in recent years. This was far more than a like-for-like system replacement. We moved from a standalone payroll solution to an integrated platform, bringing payroll and workforce management together while simplifying our technology landscape. The result is a more streamlined, efficient, and connected experience for both our employees and support teams. Programs of this scale are never delivered by one person or one team. Over the course of the journey, more than 50 people contributed across different phases of the program, bringing together expertise from across the business and our vendor partners to achieve a shared outcome. A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to this achievement, including our Payroll, HR, Technology, Data, Finance, Corporate Audit, and Global Workday teams, along with our implementation partners Dayforce and Pinpoint. Your expertise, resilience, collaboration, and commitment were instrumental in making this outcome possible. Like any major transformation, the journey included changing priorities, difficult decisions, unexpected challenges, and plenty of lessons learned along the way. What stood out most was the professionalism, teamwork, and determination shown by everyone involved. Time and again, people stepped up, supported one another, and remained focused on delivering the right outcome for the business and our employees. As a PM, it has been a privilege to lead another large-scale HR transformation journey. Experiences like this continue to reinforce that while technology enables change, real transformation is ultimately driven by people, leadership, trust, and collaboration. A special thank you to Sue Sterjovski and Gary Briggs for trusting me to lead this initiative. Your support and confidence throughout the journey meant a great deal. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this happen. It was a privilege to work alongside such talented teams and partners. #ProjectManagement #ProgramManagement #PayrollTransformation #HRTransformation #Dayforce #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #Teamwork #ChangeManagement

This is big. Three things NSW’s IT outsourcing overhaul got right (that most of us get wrong): 1. They admitted their current model was built for yesterday’s problems 2. They chose flexibility over efficiency 3. They are treating vendors like a portfolio, not a marriage The old model: Two big contracts, traditional service management, legacy thinking. The new model: Six specialised capabilities, multiple providers, built-in competition. Great stuff👌! It is basically the difference between putting all your money in one stock versus diversifying your portfolio. Same risk management principles, applied to vendor relationships. Sometimes the ‘riskier’ approach (or I call it building antifragile systems) is actually the safer long-term play. Thoughts? #VendorManagement #DigitalTranformation #ITStrategy https://lnkd.in/gxgdK2XR
