🚀 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐱 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 🔐 Salesforce is tightening security around how managed packages execute code in subscriber orgs. The new “𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐱 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 ��𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬” release update prevents managed packages from using UserInfo.getSessionId() to authenticate API calls and execute Anonymous Apex. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬? Anonymous Apex allows code to be compiled and executed dynamically. When used by managed packages, this can create: 1. Security and least-privilege concerns 2. Reduced auditability 3. A pathway for arbitrary code execution outside normal packaging controls 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? 📦 𝐈𝐒𝐕𝐬 & 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 — especially if your package uses UserInfo.getSessionId() or Anonymous Apex for setup, migrations, or maintenance. 🛡️ 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐬 & 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 — test the update in a Sandbox and check that installed packages and business processes continue to work as expected. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐨? Audit your package for: UserInfo.getSessionId() and calls to executeAnonymous. Where needed, consider moving to 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐫, 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐱, 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐮𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐞𝐱, 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚, 𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞. Winter '27 quietly breaking rules of integration testing! Apex tests have always mocked HTTP callouts. Real callouts = instant failure. Meet Apex Integration Tests - you can now write test methods that hit real external endpoints, not a mock you wrote 6 months ago. The catch: you lose automatic rollback. No more free cleanup from Salesforce — you own the test data lifecycle with @BeforecClass (setup) and Tear down (cleanup).
