Weird Printing Issue

I wasn't sure which Microsoft forum to put this in, but it seems like the issue might be fairly deep in how Windows works. I recently purchased 44 identical new laptops. I installed the same network print driver on all of them. 43 of them can print without any issue. One of them can print from some applications but not others. And here's the part where I'm baffled. It CAN print from Chrome but CANNOT print from Notepad.

If I google it, the AI assumes I'm asking the reverse question. All of the results are articles about how if you can't print from a browser one of the first troubleshooting steps is to try printing from Notepad as a sanity check. Anyone have any idea what might be causing the opposite problem?

Open an elevated command prompt just before printing. Run:

net stop spoiler

Count to 3 slowly. Then run:

net start spooler

Count to 3 slowly, then attempt to print again. Check that you're using the same driver not just the printer name (some printers will install 2+ drivers for various protocols).

Does it work? If yes, your issue is the spooler. If not, check the Windows logs for error messages.
