December 16, 2025: Cold Snap Map Condition, Flickering Flames Event

Cold Snap: Map Condition

Frigid winds carve through the valleys of The Blue Gate. Blizzards sweep across the abandoned spaceport while the Red Lakes freeze and crack. Raiders Topside battle on as they shiver and stumble and swear. 

On December 16th, as the snow rolls in, so will new threats to consider. Your feet will be unsteady over frozen water, your vision will be compromised, and frostbite is a real danger. 

During the Cold Snap condition, the clock is ticking. The freezing weather will cut your Raider down in minutes unless you get indoors, or heal up quickly. Bear this in mind when engaging other Raiders - getting pinned down in the open is a death sentence during a Rust Belt winter.

Holiday Event: Flickering Flames

Below ground, the tenacity of the human spirit endures. Despite food scarcity and rolling blackouts, survivors gather to light candles, swap war stories, and appreciate what little they have. The festival of Flickering Flames is about to begin.

The Candleberry Bush forms the centerpiece of these festivities. For Speranzans, this hardy plant is a versatile asset during the winter months: boiling the berry creates a wax that burns for hours. Crushing them yields a refreshing juice while the roots make for a tea that drives out the toughest colds. Candleberries make hearty stews, warming soups, and gifts of perfume and soap, while the wreaths can be fashioned into festive decorations that offer Speranzans a hint of Topside's greenery. Speranza needs A LOT of them for the Candleberry Banquets!

Speranzans rely on other essential items through the winter too. Light and heat sources boost morale and help keep Speranzans comfortable, while giving them the best chance to fight through to the spring.

You’re not asked to help out for nothing - a Raider's got to eat. Candleberries and Special Items will redeem for:

You'll also gain Merits for simply doing what Raiders do best - braving any Topside location and earning XP. Remember, more Merits means more stuff. Are we speaking your language?

Raider Deck: The Goalie

With our Winter Update, we’re also introducing our second free, permanent Raider Deck. Available from the 26th December, The Goalie Raider Deck lets you unlock a series of items, Raider Tokens, and Cosmetics as you earn Cred Topside. 

The flagship skin of the new Raider Deck is an old world outfit that some Speranzans have claimed was worn by the world’s most fierce and respected gladiators. Who knows, really? But hey, it comes with a pretty cool new hockey stick Raider Tool.

There’s no time to lose - the Flickering Flames event will run from December 16th until January 13th, so put on your warmest gear and get up there.

Patch Highlights

• Added Skill Tree Reset functionality.
• Added an option to toggle Aim Down Sights.
• Wallet now shows your Cred soft cap.

• Moved the Aphelion blueprint drop from the Matriarch to Stella Montis.
• Added Raider Tool customization.
• Fixed various collision issues on maps.
• Improved Stella Montis spawn distance checks to address the issue of players spawning too close to each other.

Balance Changes

Weapons:

• Bettina
  Dev note: These changes aim to make the Bettina a bit less reliant on bringing a secondary weapon. The weapon should now be a bit more competent in PVP, without tipping the scales too much. Data shows that this weapon is still the highest performing PVE weapon at its rarity (Not counting the Hullcracker). The durability should also feel more in line with our other assault rifles.
• Durability Burn Rate has been reduced from ~0.43% to ~0.17% per shot
  In practice, it used to take about 12 full magazines to fully deplete durability, but now it takes 26 (also accounting for the increased magazine size).
• Base Magazine Size has been increased from 20 to 22
• Base Reload Time has been reduced from 5 to 4.5

Rattler

Dev note: Even though the Rattler isn't intended to compete with the Stitcher or Kettle at close ranges, it is receiving a minor buff to bring its PVP TTK at lower levels a bit closer to the Stitcher and Kettle. The weapon should remain in its intended role as a more deliberate weapon where players are expected to dip in and out of cover, fire in controlled bursts, and manage their reloads.

• Base Magazine Size has been increased from 10 to 12

ARC:

Shredder

• Reduced the amount of knockback applied by weapons. Increased movement speed and turning responsiveness.
• Increased health of the Shredder's head to prevent cases where its head could be shot off, leading to unintended behavior.
• Improved Shredder navigation to reduce getting stuck on corners, narrow spaces, and short obstacles.
• Increased the speed at which the Shredder enters combat when taking damage and when in close proximity to players.
• Increased the number of parts on the Shredder that can be individually destroyed.

November 12, 2025: Arc Raiders Expanding North - New Map, Community Event, and More

New Community Event

On November 13, the Community Unlock Event “Breaking New Ground” begins. In this event, players are asked to contribute resources to the tunnel project. In Speranza, nothing comes for free, and the tunnel project is no different. Basic Materials must be collected and donated for the restoration of the tunnels to reach the fifth map: Stella Montis. Any player that has played at least five rounds can participate in this community effort.

• Plastic Parts

Donations in the “Breaking New Ground” event will earn Merits, a new event currency that will fuel the next phase of progression. While there is a cap on how many Merits can be earned for material donation, additional contributions will aid Speranza in reaching Stella Montis more quickly.

Once completed, the restoration of the tunnels and unlocking of Stella Montis will trigger Phase II, “Staking Our Claim,” a new progression track.

New Map Unlock

Carved deep into the northern mountains, Stella Montis tempts Raiders to explore an abandoned facility that remains relatively well-preserved compared to the wreckage of the lower Rust Belt. Cold and sterile, these ruins hint at what humanity left behind in its push towards the stars. The reconnection of the tunnels to Stella Montis will trigger the opening of Phase II, “Staking Our Claim.” This is a new progression track with personal rewards and challenges, and will run for a limited time until December.

New Enemies, Items and More

Raiders who investigate Stella Montis will recover rare resources, new gameplay items, maybe even schematics for long-lost technology.

The North Line update also introduces two new ARC enemies, each bringing distinct challenges to those who are brave enough to venture topside. The Matriarch is an imposing ARC machine that makes the Queen look friendly and can be found during a specific map condition. The Shredder will first appear in Stella Montis, challenging Raiders to stay sharp in close-quarter encounters.

What's Next?

The North Line is just the beginning of the ARC Raiders post-launch roadmap. The next update, Cold Snap, arrives this December which introduces the “Flickering Flames” event, a new snowfall Map Condition, the awaited Expedition Project Raider reset, and more.

November 12, 2025: Arc Raiders Matchmaking and Store Updates

After some feedback the developers have made some additional updates, aiming to improve the quality of player experience:

• Duo Matchmaking - The Developers have enabled Duo prioritized matchmaking. Duo matchmaking will work like this: Solos and Squads are prioritized to play separately. After that, Duos are prioritized to play with other Duos, and for Trios to play with Trios. They ask players to note that this is not a 100% guaranteed system, so players may at times run into differing constellations of players other than thier own.

• Store Cosmetic Prices - The team have reviewed thier prices and made adjustments to lower prices where applicable. Revised prices will go live Thursday the 13th of November, at 10:30 CET. For any Raider who has already made a purchase on the old pricing, they will be compensated for the difference. These Raider Tokens will be refunded back into accounts automatically in the coming week.

• Raider Decks - At the moment, there is one free Raider Deck available for all players. In the future both free and premium Raider Decks will be available. Important things to note:

• Gameplay Items are only in free Raider Decks. To help you along the way as a new Raider, we have included some Gameplay Items in the free Raider Deck, which can be unlocked via progression.

• There are no Pay to Win items in the premium Raider Decks. The focus for premium Decks are based on cosmetics and convenience.

November 7, 2025:Arc Raiders New Map Conditions

The developers have released new map conditions. These are hazards and effects that will dramatically impact how a run pans out. The following have been added:

• Electromagnetic Storm - The Rust Belt’s lighting up, literally. Bolts crack the sky, frying ARC and old junk alike. Risky business, but a smart Raider can use the elements to their advantage. There's even rumors of some strikes leaving behind curious formations…

• Hidden Bunker - Rumors say there’s a long-sealed bunker buried near the Spaceport outskirts. Radios are chirping, Raiders and ARC alike are swarming, whatever’s inside must be worth the static.

• Night Raid - Night falls over Blue Gate. ARC grow meaner in the dark, as do Raiders; hungrier for the rare salvage found under moonlight. Keep your wits sharp out there, everyone is sure to be hunting tonight.

October 30, 2025: Arc Raiders Roadmap

The ARC Raiders team have released a roadmap for the coming months with the following in mind for the rest of this year:

• An expansion of the Rust Belt: The next map, Stella Montis, arrives in November.
• Community Events: Special themed Community events in November and December.
• New ARC machines: Introducing new ARC machines that will challenge your adaptability and tactical planning.
• Fresh Utility Items and Weapons: Expand your arsenal with Weapons and Gadgets designed to take on the toughest ARC, or rival Raiders.
• New Quests: As a Raider, your time in the Rust Belt is not just about survival, it’s also about rediscovering what was lost with expanded Quests.
• Continuous refinements: From bug fixes, balance tweaks, QOL features, and more!

October 30, 2025: Arc Raiders Launch!

Arc Raiders launched today with an announcement from the developers:

Fellow Raiders, today marks a monumental day for us at Embark Studios, a culmination of years of passion and dedication as ARC Raiders finally goes live!

First, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the community who have been with us on this journey. Thank you for your passion, feedback and support during this process. Building games is always a challenge, but having had you with us along the way has helped tremendously.

The launch of ARC Raiders marks the end of one chapter for us, but also the beginning of a different, very exciting chapter. Seeing the game live in your hands is an incredibly exciting, and perhaps a little daunting, moment for us. We truly hope your experience is a smooth one. If you hit a snag, we’re dedicated to getting it ironed out as soon as we can.

We cannot wait to see how you fare topside, what daring raids you undertake, what formidable ARC threats you overcome, and what friends or enemies you meet. The team and I are more than excited we are on this journey together.

The Arc Raiders Story and Setting

Celeste

Part of the original group that moved into the area now known as Speranza, Celeste is reliable as they come. She became a leader in a fast growing community, being relied on for guidance and occasioanl mediation.

Lance

Unable to remember his own origins, the android known as Lance is a mystery to all. He is, however, extremely efficient when it comes to medical concerns. You'll find him just off the Piazza, healing all kinds of maladies.

Apollo

Apollo runs a store by the Piazza selling self designed goods ranging from grenades to gadgets. Raiders often find his wares to be reliable and crucial to topside runs.

Shani

The ever watchful Shani is responsible for monitoring topside threats, but she keeps an eye on the entireity of Speranza. Raiders rely on her for operation of Tubes and Raider Hatches. No one knows more about ARC, or indeed about Speranza itself, than Shani.

Tian Wen

You need high quality firearms, you go to Tian Wen. She runs her shop from behind a bulletproof door, in a dark alley. People don't remember quite when she appeared, but have come to rely on her for her goods.
