What does “verified website” mean?

What’s the difference between Ahrefs Free and Ahrefs Webmaster Tools?
They’re the same account. Ahrefs Webmaster Tools is the original name — built around SEO tools for your verified websites. As Ahrefs expanded into content, social, and analytics, the free account grew with it. Ahrefs Free is the same plan, renamed to reflect everything it now includes.
