Indie OC MCU Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Mun and Muse 21+ Penned by Deshi
Canon and OCs Welcome
“If it was justified for being worse then maybe cant tell if there’s nothing to go off of but regardless of that I think we both get the point surrounding that” Natasha had added with a slight huff
As Natasha finished speaking they rounded the corner to a large van parked straight ahead of them. Almost immediately the door slid open and a medical team rushed out to collect Natasha from Sterling’s arms.
Sterling, however, was met with the mission leader, looking stern and… well, annoyed.
“I take full responsibility for my actions and accept whatever punishment you have in mind.” Sterling said without waiting for the other agent to open her mouth.
“If I didn’t know you were trying to funny I would have smacked that smirk right off your face and I would have gotten enjoyment from doing so even if it made my current situation worse.” Natasha said
“I may be small but Im not a marshmallow. Just because you know me enough doesn’t mean I am one” She added “that reputation was meant to be intimidating yet if I wanted to bite i would have done so yet they are easily intimidated regardless”
Oh good. She could tell he was making a joke. It was a gamble but it had worked to keep her talking and alert. She was well enough to threaten him and that was an excellent sign if ever there was one.
“I was joking. I was joking. I’m more than aware you could crush me like a grape and have probably done worse for less.” Yet he couldn’t help but chuckle softly to himself as they went. Almost there now.
“Apparently they find you more approachable then. Alot of them look like I scare them to death. Suppose it depends on the agent though.”
“I’ve had worse so Im managing and cant currently complain despite the situation” Natasha had said with a couple slightly pained huffs just following his lead on the current direction.
“No offense but I can see that.” Sterling tried to keep her talking so he knew she was awake and alert as they trudged to help. “You have a very intimidating reputation, despite what a marshmallow you actually are.”
He wanted to see her reaction to that, a smirk on his own face as he spoke. He couldn’t complain too much about other agents being too terrified to approach her. It made it really easy to get The Black Widow herself as an occasional sparring partner. Nothing like absolutely getting your ass handed to you by an Avenger to actually teach you a lot about hand to hand.
“They’re less likely to break the rules anyways. Most of them are too intimidated by experienced agents to even break rules.” Natasha added going along with where he was going
“That’s certainly not my experience with new recruits.” Sterling scoffed, a fond smirk forming on his face as he thought of the ones he’d worked with in the past. One had even recently apologized for everything he’d put him through when he first started in SHIELD. Now he was a department head. Well established. Skilled. Sterling was quite proud, actually.
“We’re almost there. How are you doing?”
Sterling could hear someone on comms yelling in his ear for going in to get Romanoff. He quickly took his ear piece out to focus on getting them back safely. He would fully accept what they had to say later. He’d been on the other end of that lecture many times, mostly with Barton. He understood what he had to look forward to.
“You can carry me when I’m unconscious or dead.” She didn’t care how bad injuries were she was always pushing herself.
“If that’s the case you’re risking trouble for doing that. Clints a different story honestly think half the time he puts himself in that position but again im not him”
Sterling took that as a no on the carrying.
“Like I tell the new recruits… You have to know the rules well enough to know when you can bend them. And no one knows the rules better than me.” Sterling smirked sideways at the Avenger as they wobbled along the street to find shelter and the extraction team.
"Okay, I have you, I have you -"
Natasha had let out a short off at the movements but kept going regardless of what situation she was in currently. She was stubborn like that.
“I don’t know haven’t had time to check for anything of sorts been too occupied to even stop to look”
“It’s ok.” Sterling reassured her. “Just keep moving as long as you can and if you can’t anymore I’ll carry you.” He would have offered to do it now but he knew she was prideful. He was practically carrying her already. She was so much smaller than him and he had her arm over his shoulder. He was supporting most of her weight as they rushed through the empty streets.
“You and Clint really need to stop getting hurt when I’m not cleared for active field duty.” He chuckled breathlessly at her side as they went. Not that he wasn’t capable but he wasn’t exactly in a combat position for this op. Didn’t stop him from jumping in when he saw they needed it though.
Sterling pulled her close and supported her, gently pulling her arm over his shoulders to lift her up and help her keep going while she refilled her lungs.
“Where all are you hurt? We’ve got a med team en route. Just keep walking. We’re almost to the rendezvous point.”

Natasha needed a moment to catch her breath even if she didn’t want to openly admit that she needed to
