New Zealand’s Northland Corridor is one of the country’s most significant transport infrastructure investments, introducing a new 26-kilometer four-lane motorway connecting Warkworth to Te Hana on the North Island. We’ve been appointed design partner for Section One of the Northland Corridor, partnering with ACCIONA to support NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi. Section One is part of a larger project that aims to create a continuous four-lane highway linking Auckland and Whangārei, enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the Northland region of New Zealand. “AECOM brings proven value and global expertise to megaprojects such as these, and we look forward to partnering with ACCIONA to enhance infrastructure and deliver sustainable, future-ready transport solutions,” said Russell Jackson, interim chief executive of AECOM’s global transportation business.

This year’s Serpentine Pavilion titled 'a serpentine' was designed by Mexico-City based architecture studio LANZA Atelier, taking inspiration from the architecture feature known as a serpentine or crinkle-crankle wall which forms one side of the Pavilion. Thematically, the creation is inspired by the figure of the serpent as a generative and protective force. Working closely with Serpentine and Stage One Creative Services Ltd, we provided multidisciplinary engineering and technical advisory services for the structure. By capturing daily progress throughout the construction programme, this timelapse brings months of collaboration, engineering and construction to life in under a minute. The Pavilion is open to the public with free entry until 25 October 2026.
