The decisions we make today will shape how communities withstand and adapt to tomorrow's climate challenges. We're proud to share that the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) selected our team to lead the 2028 Climate Change Assessment and ResilientMass Plan Update. This effort will chart the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ path forward by connecting climate science, risk assessment data and resilience planning into a single, integrated strategy — creating better understanding around future climate impacts and identifying the actions needed to protect communities, critical infrastructure and essential services across the Commonwealth. Building on our work leading a prior, award-winning integrated hazard mitigation and climate adaptation plan for Massachusetts, our team will assess vulnerabilities, engage local stakeholders and develop resilience strategies that support smarter investments, stronger communities and long-term preparedness. Together with Industrial Economics, Incorporated (IEc), Consensus Building Institute, Jamie Caplan Consulting LLC and Woods Hole Group, Inc., we're helping the Commonwealth transform climate insights into action and build a more resilient future for Massachusetts.

Last week, we had the honour of celebrating the opening of the #GordieHoweBridge alongside WDBA-APWD, Bridging North America (BNA), and many more who played a role in delivering this new landmark and symbol of regional and national pride. As lead designer for BNA partners ACS Group, Aecon Group Inc., Dragados SA and Fluor Corporation, we were responsible for the bridge, the 130-acre Canadian Port of Entry, the 167-acre U.S. Port of Entry, a new highway interchange in Michigan, and five pedestrian bridges that provide safe access to the local community. Our team of more than 800 engineers, architects, project managers, planners, safety specialists and other technical experts, as well as 30+ subconsultants, collaborated from 60 offices across four continents. Together with our client, we integrated diverse engineering, architecture and construction expertise with digital technology to create a unified approach founded on common goals, transparent communication and a firm commitment to delivering social, environmental and economic value for local communities and surrounding regions. The Gordie Howe International Bridge project and its associated community benefit programs show how technical excellence and corporate responsibility come together in strength and unity to deliver a once-in-a-generation bridge and its surrounding infrastructure in a functional, responsible, secure and beautiful manner. Appreciation and congratulations to all who helped make this project a reality! Read more here: https://acm.to/EgGX

We are proud to sponsor this week's CIM | Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum Connect Convention + Expo and contribute to the technical program with two presentations addressing key challenges in mining.    Ryan Mills, M.Sc., P.Geo., senior hydrogeologist, and Cheibany O.E, Ph.D., P.Geo., senior hydrochemist, will present on the Anderson Tailings Impoundment Area pilot study. Sharing early findings from a multi-year study at Hudbay Minerals Inc.'s Snow Lake operations, our team will explore how integrated geochemical and hydrogeological investigations can support informed decisions on tailings management, including the potential for short-term subaerial deposition without significant water quality impacts.    Yu (Jack) Guo, Ph.D., P.Eng., PE, geotechnical engineer, will present on adaptive ground stabilization design under limited investigation data. Introducing a flexible, field-informed framework for stabilizing complex ground conditions, this session highlights how iterative design and real-time adjustments can improve outcomes in uncertain subsurface environments.    These sessions reflect our focus on delivering practical, data-driven solutions to complex mining challenges.    Join us at CIM to connect with our team and be part of the conversation. We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver!
