okay people are doing nuance in the notes about the kernels of truth in neuroscience myths but I really really need you to understand that that is not important here. people don’t believe there are “right-brained” and “left-brained” people because they’ve misunderstood lateralisation of the central nervous system, they believe it because that binary framework was deliberately pushed by people who wanted to define who was logical enough to lead, and surprise surprise, white adult heterosexual men are left-brained. people don’t believe the brain “finishes developing at 25” because they’ve misunderstood life stage differences in neuroplasticity, they believe it because the idea that children, teens, and young adults have inferior brains is a convenient rationalisation for a society that marginalises them. people don’t believe you “only use 10% of your brain” because they misread an fMRI study, they believe it because it’s useful bullshit for everyone from hyperindividualist historical revisionists pushing the great genius concept of scientific progress to hucksters recruiting for cults that will teach you to unlock your latent telekinesis for just $5000 a month. that’s why it’s fucking important to know that many popular science ideas are false and to push back on them loudly and frequently, because they’re not just mildly incorrect, they are often active components of systems of violence.

He fled to Argentina after the war and, after a complex series of events, was found in the late 50s. The Mossad carried out an illegal extradition (which the Argentine government was, by all accounts, aware of and cool with), brought him to Jerusalem, put him on trial (you know, Hannah Arendt’s whole thing, and the setting of my profile pic of Zivia) and he was hanged on June 1, 1962.

I wish you wouldn't use the term transandrophobia. I understand transmascs do deserve language to speak on their oppression, but the way the term transandrophobia in specific has been used has twisted it into a transmisogynistic dog whistle sadly. Transandromisia and androqueerphobia are much nicer terms that have the same meaning without the transmisogynistic connotations associated with the words, and I've seen you use those terms before, so it's disheartening to see you suddenly begin using transandrophobia instead.
People say the same thing about androqueerphobia and transandromisia. Not to mention androqueerphobia is a much broader term for prejudice against queer masculinity generally.
There’s nothing transmisogynistic about the word transandrophobia. Yeah, some bigots are going to use it because it gained traction as a useful term in discussion. This is true of literally every useful word ever. I have seen people say the most vile intersexist shit in the name of ‘fighting transmisogyny’ and I don’t sit here and call transfeminism 'transmisogyny theory’ and insist it’s inherently intersexist. Because I understand that individual assholes misuse useful terms all the damn time.
People who say the word transandrophobia is transmisogynistic aren’t actually talking about the word, they’re upset about transmascs talking about their lives. That’s bigoted and is a perfect example of why the word transandrophobia should exist. If you even look at the people who argue against it, they’re always saying that there is no unique experience with oppression caused by being a trans man- that trans men only experience 'just transphobia’ and there is no oppression inherent to transmasculinity. That’s dismissive and frankly rude as fuck. There’s no word that will satisfy the people who think trans men/mascs are simply incapable of speaking for themselves/believe they are bigoted for doing so.
I think we should allow transmascs to have their own terms, for fuck’s sake. If you’re not transmasculine, you don’t get a say in this at all. You can support a group of marginalized people and what they say or you can be a bigot against them, it’s very simple.
Can I be honest I was a terf for awhile and then I realized they didn’t just hate trans women they also hated themselves too and kept repeating a bunch of mysoginistic shit. And I knew the sexist stuff they said about cis women wasn’t true…and it was so weird it got me thinking about the stuff they were saying about trans women. and I started realizing they didn’t really hate trans women for being trans…they hated that trans women were enjoying being women while TERFs absolutely hated being women. the irony is that their own internalized sexism opened my eyes and turned me into a trans ally.
