At the end of film, Mako lost consciousness, however Raleigh didn't seem to suffer from the neural load. Is a passing-out pilot still capable to share the neural load with another one, or just because they weren't really fighting that time and Gipsy was damaged bad?
It's usually not really an issue right off the bat. The burden accumulates. Plus they weren't really doing anything at the time. Like he says, "Anyone can fall."
