I always loved the excitement of the reveals on these. I'd hear the arguments about it being busted if single player pokemon was ever finely balanced. It's just always too easy to worry about such things.
I remember when this was released, it already looked awful. I was working in the TV section of a Target, and, as the "sample" DVD, it was actively harming our sales.
I agree with the broader point here. The show really captures a lot of the mechanics/decisions of the game, not just the setting. This is impressive & obviously done with a lot of love.
