See AllWe need Rey to return to Star Wars now more than ever
Frederick Which I don't think will work. Today's young audience simply do not have the same kind of tie to the Star Wars franchise that the Gen X'ers do/did.
Steam devs nearly go bankrupt after being scammed for Maya license
What may have happened was, they bought a key, registered it - and it validated. So they figured, well it worked didn't it? And just carried on. But yes this like buying a single machine home-use license and then applying it to the whole company's machines.
The 2026 Game of the Year race has completely changed in the last few weeks
No Pragmata? What's going on with this list?
PlayStation and Xbox have learned painful lessons about exclusives
Nope exclusivity is the devil in this day and age. The days of SNES/Genesis are long over. I mean fine, if they want to keep single-player titles exclusives, go ahead knock themself out but even companies like Square-Enix ran the numbers, and those told the whole story. FF16, FF7 Rebirth having been first PS5 exclusives, then ported to PC a year later, absolutely cost them dearly.
They learned a painful lesson and will not do that again. Multi-platform release is the way - period.
PlayStation and Xbox have learned painful lessons about exclusives
Same. If it's not on Steam then they lose a customer - period.
PlayStation and Xbox have learned painful lessons about exclusives
I am giving away my PS5 to a buddy who's more of a Sony gamer. The rising cost of the subscription is one thing; I don't like the Sony tax on the peripherals. For those of you who don't know - you cannot just plug in a PS3/PS4 controller in your PS5 and expect it to work...on PS5 native titles. It's crazy isn't it? How in the world, did places like the EU watchdogs not take notice of this? Something as plainly anti-consumer as this and they did nothing whatsoever?
Meanwhile you plug in an old controller on the PC, and it works. You do not have to pay some ridiculous monthly sub, just to play online. This was outright unthinkable on PC, but on console you're expected to, to enable any online multiplayer? What hogwash is this?
So I've had enough. As for the exclusives thing, that's a huge mistake. Square made that mistake and they won't make it again. Final Fantasy 7 part 3 is going to be rightly cross-platform and it's exactly the way it should be.
Capcom is going to continue to make their titles cross-platform. Maybe they'll never fix the vexing performance issues of Monster Hunter on PC, but thank god Pragmata and SF6 play just fine on PC. So down with exclusives. Cross-Platform or bust.
