Metro Awakening VR
Metro Awakening is another good entry in the outstanding Metro series, though at times it feels like more of a side quest than a main entry. Still, the graphics are gorgeous, the metro underground is equal parts fun and creepy to explore in VR, and the game makes great use of VR to bring the world to life and really immerse the player. Despite a few minor issues, Awakening is a great VR experience and well worth picking up, especially if you are a fan of the series.
Overall, I think Metro Awakening VR is a worthy VR experience and a good Metro game, but it is not particularly groundbreaking on either front. I am thrilled to see more mainstream AAA titles getting VR releases that are more than just tacked-on afterthoughts. The quality that Metro Awakening manages to display is more than enough to justify other developers looking into making similar games and perhaps even a low-risk way to revive some other dormant franchises in VR (Resistance, please, I’m begging you). I hope to see more of this type of VR title in the future and am happy to see the medium continue to move forward.
This Metro adaptation for virtual reality impresses thanks to its immersive atmosphere, good controls and high level of immersion. Although the game does become a bit predictable in the long run, reducing the tension a bit. In addition, the story gets off to a rather slow start, but once it gets up to speed it manages to keep you entertained until the end. A decent PlayStation VR2 game, is the short conclusion.

Interesting until about the end of chapter six... and from chapter seven all sorts of nonsense begin... It seems that the developers got tired of creating monotonous walking through subway tunnels, and just started creating nonsense to stretch out the game for a longer time... 6/10 not more... 🫤

Отличная игра! Невероятное погружение и классная история. ЖУТКО ВЫБЕСИЛО отсутствие русского языка, минус бал за это.

The story is incredible and is only surpassed by its incredible immersion in the subway in VR

Metro: Awakening is what happens when a now proven professional VR studio gets involved with triple-A game series. It delivers a truly next-level experience that is indispensable for Metro fans and VR enthusiasts who want to experience the tension and oppression of the legendary rotten post-apocalyptic metro system. More VR games of this caliber, please!

Metro Awakening VR is one of the best survival horror game experiences available on any VR headset, with thrilling scares and strong survival mechanics all tied together with an immersive and rich atmosphere. Even though the story loses steam before the end and stealth combat fails to impress, the rest of its best parts make for an unmissable game for any horror fans with a VR headset laying around.

PS VR2 Game of the Year for me. Starts of slow but pays of in the end. The game looks and feels like a Metro game should and the audio is amazing. A little less use of the charger would have been better, but it also created some tens moments in the dark,

If you have a PlayStation VR2 sitting around collecting dust, now is the time to get it out. Metro Awakening is going to remind you why it's so special and, above all, different to play with one of these headsets and its futuristic controls. Vertigo Games played it safe with tried-and-true elements from any VR FPS, but it knew how to intrigue in a great way what makes the saga it's representing so special and beloved with a completely new title that adds to its intricate lore. Now, I couldn't tell you that this game is a reason to run out and buy Sony's device, but it is one that contributes to the small offer of titles it has, not to mention that we're talking about a new Metro, something that hasn't happened since 2019 with the sensational Metro Exodus.

Vertigo Games have perfectly captured the essence of a Metro game with Metro Awakening. The more humble yet engrossing story telling is met with some painfully slow moments that bog down what is otherwise a great shooter set in Russia's nuclear fallout.

For every great things that Metro Awakening does, it unfortunately also does something less great that nullifies it. Punchy action and an eye for detail add to the immersion that every Metro fan has been dreaming of for decades, but less than stellar graphical performance on the Quest 3, repetitive environments, and possible control/inventory issues can wear a player out faster than a shroom-infested tunnel full of 'hard-to-kill' nuclear spiders. No really, if anyone could tell me how to kill them, that would be great...

First half of the game was really ok, but second part was rather poor and ending could be called in many ways bur for sure not in any way close to epic or spectacular; apart from jump scares, second part of the game was rather boring, with terrible writing and with locations reused for second or sometimes even third time; mounted-gun action again and again.. That is a real shame as gameplay, gunplay and climate is there; but seems like that at some point they wanted to release the game ASAP and in the second half of production process they took too many shortcuts what resulted in very questionable outcome

It was ok.. when it first started i thought oh this looks like its gonna be good but once I noticed I was going through the same areas over and over again and that theres literally 5 npcs copied and pasted over and over again I started to worry. The gun play was pretty fun and the weapon selection and I did suffer a few jump scares at times, especially the spiders but I had no clue what was happening in the story even though I tried my best to follow it and all in all it just got confusing and boring. It's never good when your willing a game to be finished sooner rather than later. I was really looking forward to this one too but it was meh

It's disappointing to see many reviewers and redditors comparing this to Half-Life: Alyx while hesitating to provide a genuine critique. It's commonly referred to as an AAA game, but I don't believe those that do know what a AAA game is. This is AA at best. it's certainly one of the higher budget titles for Quest, but in the greater industry it falls way **** graphics are clearly optimized for the Quest 3, even if you play on PC, which is a huge disappointment. The level design is subpar, dull, and dated. Object interaction is minimal, cumbersome, and loses realist with so much clipping and jank. It feels like the game is using an engine from the early days of VR. We have come so far since then, but this developer is stuck in the past. The mechanics are serviceable but falls victim to that same issue. It's old and not enjoyable. I was hoping for something more than a straightforward monster shooter like the developer's other title: Arizona Sunshine, but it's essentially the same, only with more boring walking in the dark. The mechanics meant to keep it interesting, such as the flashlight you have to crank to recharge, end up just making the game tedious and frustrating. I played through it all, in hopes the narrative and environments would keep me entertained. I lost track of the narrative quickly as I felt i knew my goal was to move forward and shoot and that was all the depth there was going to be, and I was right. The environments never really changed. It was a struggle to complete this game despite there being no challenge to the gameplay at all.
