I’ve been sitting on this one for months. For a while now, I’ve had this idea: interview people whose careers didn't move in a straight line, and actually get into the how. I want to get to the root of their decision-making: why they jumped at certain opportunities and passed on others, the risks they tolerated to carve their paths, what it all cost them, the career advice they'd give you if you were lucky enough to land them as a mentor. How they got where they did, and everything they learned along the way. When the team at Robert Half approached me to co-produce an interview series exploring non-linear careers, it felt serendipitous. And I am over the moon to announce: the series launches next week! We’ve got conversations lined up for you with: - A career coach who reaches over a million people a day, on what it actually takes to find fulfillment at work, and what's working in a brutally competitive job market - The woman who was championing portfolio careers before it was a buzzword, on navigating the highs and lows of self-employment and building multiple income streams that actually work together - A beauty founder who locked onto one dream early and built toward it without distraction, on what that kind of conviction actually looks like in practice, not just in the outcome - A food creator who built an entire business out of the hobby she loved, and how she stayed true to her values the entire way - A venture capitalist and investor who took a 50% pay work on creating a change she believed in, and whether it paid off …and a few more I can’t wait to share. They all come from completely different corners of ‘careers’, but talk to enough people who’ve built something they believe in and the pattern is impossible to miss: there’s no single blueprint for a meaningful career Whether you’re actively job hunting, plotting your next move, or looking for that spark of career inspiration, this series definitely has something for you. I cannot WAIT to share this with you. First episode drops next week on Robert Half's Youtube and my Substack (subscribers, keep an eye on your inbox). See you then!
Looking forward to it! I just had one career shift (thankfully) but it will be interesting to learn how others navigated their professions and lives and see what we can learn from their experiences.
This is awesome! As someone who has had anything but a linear career—from healthcare administration to social media marketing—and one of those social media roles was secured with the help of the Robert Half team, I am excited to watch this series!

Can't wait for this!
good job! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is exciting, can't wait!
I really like the focus on the “how” behind each career story. Titles and milestones tell us where someone ended up, but understanding the trade offs, risks, and decisions along the way is often where the most useful career insight lives.
