AI fighting AI is a powerful step for security operations — but when does the escalation end? If attackers use more autonomous agents, defenders respond with more autonomous agents, and the cycle continues. Making the defensive AI faster or more capable does not by itself create a stable boundary. The deeper question may be: Who — or what — ultimately decides whether an AI-generated action is admissible to execute? At that point, the problem moves beyond AI vs. AI toward execution governance: identity, authority, capability, runtime context, constraints, and independently enforceable execution boundaries. The goal should not be to build the most powerful autonomous defender, but to ensure that autonomous actions remain admissible, enforceable, and verifiable — even when the other side is autonomous too.
