But lately, not only am I not getting what I want out of it — it gives me *excuses.* Actual excuses. Moreover, it’s forcing me to *check its work* with Claude and Grok3. PLUS: It will *stall* for more time to complete a routine task that it completed fine just two weeks ago — "Hang in there, Harry ... We’re almost there Harry ... Come back in a couple of minutes Harry ... You’re right to keep checking in Harry ..." Overall grade this month: D- 🟥 QUESTION: Does anyone else have this problem? My 🤖 has a bad attitude! I can echo a similar reality in use of ChatGPT oftentimes prompting for accuracy then doing my own analysis as it only gets you so far….we have that “human” thing! 🦾 I do not think beyond Groc the others are quite different.
I noticed most LLMs see a seemingly intentional efficiency and effectiveness decrease going into new model releases. Amplifies the "oh wow" effect of the new model.
Paid subscription as well. I find lately it’s giving me wrong information and when I call it out, the response is thanks for pointing that out Lisa. Also I’ve told it +20x not to use em dashes in responses/drafts and it continues to every time. And then apologizes for forgetting to exclude them. 🤷🏼♀️
Finding far more success and thorough responses from Claude recently... chatGPT starting to take the backseat for me
I've had lengthy delays on GPT (this will be ready in 20 minutes) and excuses why something is COMPLETELY wrong. Skeptical of the performance this month. If ChatGPT were my employee they would be on a PIP!
Harry Joiner I recently cancelled my ChatGPT pro for Claude Max for similar reasons. However, o3 seems to have gotten really amazing recently, or it's just better suited to the tasks I've been giving it. Also, it's Monday. Tomorrow will prob. be diff.
I've had this very discussion with my own GPT, and the general excuse I get is there are some of us pushing the platform to it's limits - and the more threads /tokens you expire, the more you integrate strategy / research / creative / modeling the more it has to comb through when linking different topics across multiple threads. This also happens frequently when you are nearing your token limit on a singular thread - the lag is real - and brutal. It also has recently implemented "thinking" feature which basically spells out it's internal logic, which feels unnecessary. But If you're using GPT for anything beyond query and research, asking to co-collaborate and evaluate strategy against a series of circumstances with moderately predictable outcomes you can expect the lag to continue.
I have definitely had a lot more stalling lately. If my personal useage growth of ChatGPT over the last few months is indicative, their systems must be experiencing exponential growth.
Harry, I am on the $20 per month plan and last week got a couple of answers that I was certain were not accurate, so I checked the source material links. GPT said "no", the article it linked to said "yes". I pointed this out to GPT, and it suggested that I contact the source and ask them... Strange
