Vice President of Logistics Operations

Location: Mobile, Alabama Salary: $130,000-$150,000 DOE

A growing transportation and logistics organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Logistics Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across its logistics operations in the Mobile market.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned logistics professional who understands the complexities of port-related transportation and has established relationships within the Port of Mobile and/or port authority community.

What You'll Bring

• 13+ years of overall logistics experience, with a minimum of 10 years in logistics operations leadership
• Significant experience overseeing transportation, logistics, terminal, drayage, intermodal, or related operations
• Established professional connections and working relationships with port authorities, port officials, marine terminals, and other key port stakeholders
• Strong understanding of the Port of Mobile and the Gulf Coast logistics market
• Proven ability to lead managers, operations teams, and cross-functional personnel
• Experience developing and implementing operational processes, KPIs, and performance improvements
• Strong understanding of transportation costs, service levels, compliance, safety, and profitability
• Ability to identify operational challenges and develop practical solutions
• Strong business judgment and the ability to work strategically while remaining involved in day-to-day operations
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for logistics and transportation operations
• Develop and execute operational strategies that support company growth and profitability
• Build and maintain strong relationships with port authorities, terminals, carriers, customers, and other industry partners
• Oversee operational performance, productivity, service levels, and profitability
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency
• Lead and develop operations management teams
• Establish and monitor KPIs and operational standards
• Work closely with senior leadership on business development, capacity planning, and strategic initiatives
• Help position the organization for continued growth within the Mobile/Gulf Coast transportation market
• Serve as a senior representative of the company with customers, industry partners, and port-related organizations
  
  

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for more than someone who simply has a senior logistics title. The right individual will be a well-connected, hands-on logistics leader who understands how freight actually moves through the port and transportation network.

You should be someone who can walk into a room with port officials, terminal operators, carriers, customers, and logistics professionals and already have established credibility and relationships.

Compensation: $130,000-$150,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
