Role Description This position is responsible for assisting in the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure as well as providing technical support to SMG staff. In addition, this position is expected to contribute to and maintain automation scripts and custom database development that support the tasks/procedures of all SMG departments.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to and administer SMG’s Technology Policies and Procedures in accordance with SMG Security Requirements
Monitor and maintain data backup systems, regularly verify data backups to ensure reliability
When necessary, implement SMG’s Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Plan
Install new and upgrade existing technology hardware and software including configuration of networks in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Maintain all technology-related documentation and procedures
Provide technical support and troubleshoot technology issues for SMG staff
Learn, maintain, and contribute to development changes within SMG’s custom database systems using Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including managing servers, operating systems, and user access.
Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware, software, and user issues.
Candidates should possess Network Administration skills to configure, monitor, and maintain network devices, connectivity, and security.
Candidates should possess Information Technology skills, including familiarity with common business applications, security best practices, and backup procedures.
Relevant qualifications include prior experience in an IT or systems administrator role, preferably in a small to mid-sized organization.
Additional beneficial qualifications include industry certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications) and experience supporting users in a property management or housing-related environment.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site setting are essential.
Programming Experience in at least one of the following (VBA, PowerShell, SQL, HTML/CSS)
Available for occasional after-hours work and emergency support 24/7
