**System President**
The Board of Trustees of the Maine Community College System (MCCS)
invites applications and nominations for the position of System
President. The MCCS seeks its next president to lead the Systems seven
colleges at a time of significant enrollment growth and expanding impact
across the State. The System serves more than 33,000 people annually
through two-year associate degrees, one-year certificates, short-term
workforce training, early college programs, advanced credentials, and
other learning opportunities.
Serving as the Systems Chief Executive Officer, the System President
oversees the overall operation of the System. The System President is
appointed by and reports to the Board of Trustees, and success in the
role depends on a strong, collaborative working relationship with the
Board.
Candidates must have at least ten years of demonstrated successful
senior executive experience, preferably in post-secondary education and
an advanced academic degree. Candidates must demonstrate successful
leadership experience in developing and implementing strategic planning,
while providing direction and vision for the System. Candidates must
have proven experience in working collaboratively and innovatively with
employees, business, industry, the legislature, government, community
organizations, and public and private education institutions. Candidates
must understand the role of the System in creating an educated, skilled,
and adaptable workforce that responds to the changing needs of the
States economy, including a deep understanding of the Systems enrollment
strategies and workforce development programming. A proven record of
fundraising is also important.

demographics and employers demands for an increasingly skilled
workforce, together with the evolution of artificial intelligence, how
do you see higher education evolving in the coming decade?
