Python Hedge Fund Developer – NYC

The Client

Our client is a leading global multi-strategy investment firm with a technology-first approach and a genuinely high-performance engineering culture.

With a global footprint spanning New York, Houston, London, Singapore and Hong Kong, the firm operates at significant scale across markets, strategies and regions.

They are now looking to add a Python Hedge Fund Developer to their New York engineering team, working closely with Treasury and other business functions to build technology that supports cash management, liquidity, funding and wider treasury operations.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on full-stack engineering role where you’ll have ownership from design through to delivery.

You’ll work across Python, React, APIs, SQL and modern cloud/data technologies, building applications and services that automate and improve critical Treasury workflows.

It’s an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across the stack, solving complex problems and operating at the intersection of technology, data and financial markets.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain full-stack applications using Python and React
• Develop APIs and backend services supporting cash management, liquidity and funding workflows
• Work with Snowflake and AWS RDS, alongside relational databases
• Design and deliver scalable applications that improve automation and operational efficiency
• Collaborate closely with Treasury, Product, Data and Engineering teams
• Debug and optimise across frontend, backend and data layers
• Take ownership of projects and deliver features end-to-end
• Apply strong engineering practices around testing, code quality, CI/CD and modern development workflows
• Explore opportunities across AI, automation and data engineering to improve Treasury processes

What You’ll Need

• Strong commercial experience with Python and React
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and SQL
• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with AWS RDS, PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Strong Git and modern software development practices
• Exposure to AWS or another major cloud platform
• Experience with Docker and/or CI/CD pipelines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of ownership

Experience within Treasury, Finance, Capital Markets or an investment environment would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
