Job Title: Production Manager – Advanced HPDC

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager – Advanced HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting) to lead daily manufacturing operations at our Bellevue, OH facility. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in HPDC processes, equipment commissioning, production readiness, and quality system implementation.
The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost while building and developing a high-performing production team.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Team Management
Direct and coordinate all daily HPDC production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
Manage production staff, including scheduling, task assignments, and shift coverage
Establish and monitor KPIs such as productivity, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), quality yield, and on-time delivery
Provide daily and weekly performance reports to senior leadership
Develop and enforce departmental policies, SOPs, and operational standards
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate team members; conduct performance reviews and support career growth
Lead technical training and coaching initiatives to enhance team capability
Maintain strict compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations
Oversee preventive maintenance (PM) programs for die-casting machines and auxiliary equipment
Production Readiness & Process Development
Lead installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new die-casting equipment (machines, furnaces, robotics)
Plan equipment layout and optimize material flow during facility upgrades or expansions
Develop and maintain SOPs, control plans, and process documentation
Establish and maintain quality systems in compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and structured training for production personnel
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) through prototype builds and internal R&D projects
Manage and execute PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for mass production launches
Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews, advising on part design, tooling, gating, and process optimization
Qualifications
Extensive hands-on experience in High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) operations
Strong knowledge of die-casting machinery, furnaces, and auxiliary systems
Understanding of OSHA, EPA, and industrial compliance requirements
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with flow/thermal/solidification modeling tools (e.g., MAGMA, FLOW-3D)
Practical expertise in die design, gating, venting, runner systems, and tooling troubleshooting
Experience with robotic programming and integration (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, or similar)
Strong project management background with experience leading production teams
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular presence on the production floor
Exposure to hot, humid, or cold plant conditions and loud environments
Occasional extended hours to meet project and production deadlines
