The State Group is seeking a Payroll Analyst (Shared Services) to work at our Louisville, Kentucky office.

The Payroll Analyst, Shared Services position coordinates and supports payroll tax and union benefit audits, prepares and files certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects, and coordinates annual workers’ compensation audits. This role is on-site, and relocation assistance is not offered.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Process weekly union payroll for multi-trade construction projects, ensuring compliance with collective Bargaining Agreements and prevailing wage laws.

• Complete weekly and bi-weekly payrolls accurately and on time.

• Generate and review audit, exception, and reconciliation reports to validate

gross-to-net pay, labor hours, pay rates, and deductions

• Manage payroll disbursements, including checks, pay statements, direct

deposits, garnishments, employment insurance claims, and government

correspondence.

• Validate and balance payroll transactions with downstream systems,

including job costing, general ledger, payroll taxes, and child support

payments; collaborate with outsourced payroll tax compliance providers as

needed.

• Prepare and submit union and non-union payroll data, including certified

payroll, prevailing wage, and benefits funding reports; coordinate audits and

ensure compliance with federal, state, and job-specific regulations.

• Coordinate payroll tax notices and compliance activities; investigate and

resolve payroll discrepancies.

• Create queries, reports, Excel workbooks, and summary analyses as

requested.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

• 3+ years of processing US and Canadian payroll with a strong focus on union environments and prevailing wage compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with construction ERP software (such as Sage, Vista, or

Jonas) preferred.

• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and

time management, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Proven ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy.
