About the Role
We are seeking a potential Co-founding Developer to help accelerate the next phase of Space Vision’s product evolution. This is a part-time, portfolio-driven opportunity designed for a senior individual contributor who wants meaningful ownership, real shipping experience on visionOS, and the chance to shape the future of education with AI and spatial computing.
You will work directly with the founding team to build core immersive learning experiences, including an AI-powered guide and a gamification system that rewards learning progress. High performers will be considered for equity participation as the product and collaboration mature.
This role is ideal for someone who has shipped Apple platform apps and is either already fluent in visionOS or excited to go deep very quickly.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and ship core features for Space Vision using SwiftUI on visionOS
Develop immersive spatial experiences using RealityKit and ARKit, with strong attention to performance, interaction comfort, and clarity
Own feature implementation end to end, from concept through release and iteration
Collaborate with founders on product, technical, and roadmap planning and decisions
Integrate with backend services such as Firebase for data, user state, and analytics
Contribute to lightweight technical standards that keep the team fast without unnecessary process (CI, testing, code-reviews, release cadence, performance budgets)
Oversee App Store releases: TestFlight, metadata, crash analytics, post-launch fixes
Influence product direction to maximize adoption, retention and monetization
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience shipping production apps on Apple platforms (App Store Connect & TestFlight workflow)
Expert-level Swift 6 & SwiftUI (you write idiomatic async/await, combine, and know the pitfalls of data-flow in reactive UIs)
Hands-on experience with or strong ability to quickly ramp into visionOS development, Reality Composer Pro toolkit (ShaderGraph, PBR materials, mesh import/retopology, lighting setups, spatial audio)
Practical experience with RealityKit and ARKit, or equivalent 3D or real-time interactive systems.Senior-level individual contributor mindset with the ability to scope work, make decisions, and execute independently
Automated testing in Xcode - writing and maintaining unit, integration, and UI tests (XCTest, RealityKit simulation APIs, or similar)
3D math intuition - linear algebra, quaternions, coordinate-space conversions, and physics basics come naturally
Comfort working in early-stage venture with evolving requirements and high ownership
Git-centric collaboration - feature branches, PR reviews, semantic commits, and conflict resolution are second nature
Strong skills in debugging, testing, and optimizing code for performance and scalability
Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate asynchronously in a remote team
Demonstrated passion for Apple platforms, VisionOS, education, and astronomy
(Portfolio encouraged but not required. Submit any sample work you believe demonstrates relevant skills or potential to succeed in this role.)
Preferred Qualifications
Shipped apps for Apple Vision Pro or participated in visionOS betas or projects using VisionOS, RealityKit & ARKit and can architect with latest available features
GPU/Memory debugging, profiling and optimization with Xcode and Metal
Background in graphics, simulation, spatial UX, or interactive education tools
3D/spatial, motion, and emerging interface design work with Blender / Unity / After Effects or similar for quick model tweaks, UV mapping, and baking textures
Experience integrating AI-powered features or working with AI APIs
Prior experience as an early engineer or founding developer at a startup
Background in product design, UI/UX development, and software engineering principles
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
