Craighill is hiring a Brand Designer to shape how we look, feel, and speak across every surface: from packaging to pixels, from a product launch to a catalog page.
Craighill is a Brooklyn-based design studio creating enduring, beautiful, and useful objects with a deep commitment to ingenuity, curiosity, and long-term creative ambition. From our Greenpoint studio, we’ve built one of the largest design-focused audiences in our category, while remaining independent and design-led.
We make things that reward attention. Objects that get better the longer you look at them. Our brand exists to translate that same quality of attention into every visual touchpoint we create—packaging, campaigns, editorial, and beyond. We’re building a company meant to endure for generations, and the brand we present to the world has to reflect that.
This is a core creative role at a pivotal moment. Over the past two years, Craighill has grown dramatically in reach and ambition—and we need a Brand Designer who can keep pace with that momentum while staying true to everything that makes the brand distinct.
You’ll work closely with our entire creative team to concept and execute visual work across all channels. You’re the person who ensures that a product launch feels coherent from the first teaser email to the hang tag inside the box, and that everything in between feels unmistakably Craighill: precise, curious, quietly confident, and beautifully made. The objects themselves are the brief. The better you understand what something is and how it’s made, the better the work you’ll do around it.
Visual Brand Stewardship
- Inhabit and evolve Craighill’s visual brand guidelines, maintaining consistency and raising the bar across every platform and material.
- Design compelling assets for packaging, website, email marketing, social, print, and retail—ensuring every touchpoint reflects our ethos with precision and intention.
Creative Concepting & Storytelling
- Drive visual ideation in close partnership with our copywriter, finding the unexpected angle in a familiar brief rather than defaulting to the obvious solution.
- Translate product launches, campaigns, and seasonal stories into cohesive visual narratives, presenting ideas clearly in well-designed decks.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the product design, marketing, and sales teams to align creative concepts with business strategy and launch timelines.
- Partner with external vendors and production partners to oversee print and physical materials with exacting standards.
- Participate in creative reviews openly, taking feedback constructively and iterating quickly without losing point of view.
Brand Intelligence
- Bring forward market research and competitive analysis to keep Craighill’s visual identity fresh and strategically relevant.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining quality under deadline pressure.
- You have a point of view. Your first instinct is not to reach for the obvious solution. You ask why before you ask how, and your work is better for it.
- You’re meticulous in the best way. Your files are organized, your naming conventions make sense, your timelines are your own. The tenth project of the quarter gets the same care as the first.
- You’re a perceptive communicator. You listen carefully, absorb feedback without ego, and design for how something will be experienced, not just how it looks on screen.
- You’re curious about the physical world. You care about how things are made, what materials feel like, and why certain objects earn a permanent place in someone’s life.
- You care how your work performs. Design is a means, not an end, and you’re genuinely interested in the connection between what you make and how the business grows.
- 3+ years of experience as a Brand Designer, ideally within a lifestyle or product-focused brand or at an agency working with similar companies.
- A strong portfolio with an emphasis on branding, packaging, and visual storytelling for physical products.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Deep fluency in typography, color theory, and layout design.
- Experience in photography, illustration, or video editing is a meaningful plus.
Craighill is an independent studio with long-term ambition—we think in decades, not seasons. We’ve built an extraordinary organic audience, we’re expanding our product range and retail presence, and we’re investing in the creative infrastructure to match. The person in this role will help define how Craighill looks for the next chapter. If you care about design at its best—curious, rigorous, made to endure—this is a rare opportunity to do your best work.
