Telon is an AI Native services company. We embed consultants and engineers directly into client teams to design, build, and run AI powered workflows, moving operations from manual process to intelligent automation. Our clients range from fast-growing businesses to global enterprises.

The Role:

We are looking for an AI Consultant to sit at the intersection of business process and AI implementation. This is not a back-office engineering role. You will be the person clients trust to translate messy, real-world business process into reliable AI agents and workflows, and you will often be doing that translation live, in the room, with the client.

You will work across client teams to understand how work really gets done, not just how it is described in a process map. From there, you will design, build, test, and iterate AI agents that automate or augment that work.

What you will do:

  • Work directly with client teams to map existing processes (intake, triage, review, approvals, reporting workflows, and the like) in granular, practical detail.
  • Design and build agentic workflows and AI agents that reflect how the work actually happens, including edge cases, escalation paths, and judgment calls.
  • Act as the client-facing consultant on engagements: run workshops, present findings, manage stakeholder expectations, and be the credible translator between business and technical teams.
  • Iterate rapidly. Test agents against real tasks and data, gather feedback, refine logic and prompts, and re-deploy.
  • Document process and agent logic clearly enough that it is auditable and maintainable long after the engagement ends.
  • Identify where automation should, and should not, be applied, and be honest with clients about that.
  • Feed learnings back into Telon's internal playbooks and Outcomes Engine product.

What you will bring:

  • Genuinely process-driven. You naturally break work down into steps, spot inconsistencies, and think in terms of logic and exceptions rather than narrative.
  • A confident, polished client-facing manner. You are comfortable running workshops, presenting to senior stakeholders, and holding your own as a consultant, not just an implementer.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to decompose a complex workflow into clear, buildable components.
  • A genuine appreciation of AI and how it is changing the way organisations work. You keep up with the space and are excited by it, even if you are not a software engineer.
  • Experience delivering client-facing consulting or implementation work, with a track record of getting things live rather than just advising.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
  • The ability to work independently on client engagements while staying tightly looped in with the internal team.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience building agentic workflows or AI-driven automations. This is a real plus, and something you will do a lot of here.
  • Prior experience at a technology vendor, a professional services firm, or an automation consultancy.
  • Basic technical fluency (prompt engineering, low-code or no-code tooling, or light scripting), enough to build hands-on rather than just spec the work.
  • Experience training or upskilling teams on new tools and ways of working.
