Being the first Salvadoran frozen food brand to earn a place on these shelves is an accomplishment that means so much to us. I never imagined I would one day see our loroco and cheese pupusas and of course (my moms recipe of ) Beans and Cheese pupusas available at a major retailer like Whole Foods. This achievement represents not only the hard work of our team, but also a step forward for Salvadoran 🇸🇻 culture and cuisine to be recognized on a larger stage. We’re announcing Nectar Social’s $30M Series A led by Amy Wu Martin at Menlo Ventures and its Anthology Fund (in partnership with Anthropic), with True Ventures, GV (Google Ventures), and Gwyneth Paltrow's Kinship Ventures, LLC. Thank you to Lucinda Shen at Axios for breaking the story. When Farah and I started Nectar, we kept coming back to the same observation. The conversations that actually shape what people buy have moved into DMs, comments, group chats, and creator posts. Places no human team can realistically staff. AI has created infinite content. Brands now need infinite presence. But the marketing software stack wasn't built for this world. It was built for an era when the work happened on an interface, in business hours, by a team big enough to keep up. None of those things are true anymore. Engineering has already lived through this shift. Developers stopped writing every line of code and started directing agents that execute against outcomes. Marketing is in the same moment now. The teams that win the next decade won't be the ones who staff harder. They'll be the ones who direct intelligent systems that show up everywhere customers already are, in the brand's voice, in real time, with the team's judgment built in. That's what Nectar Agent does. As Ekta Chopra, Chief AI Officer at e.l.f. Cosmetics recently shared, "The software stack most brands built was designed for an era when the work happened on the interface. That's no longer true. At e.l.f. Beauty, social is where discovery, decision, and loyalty actually happen. Nectar has combined our customer experience, influencer, social marketing, and insights work into one operating system, lifted response rates 60%, and given us the first clean line from a social conversation to revenue. Connected commerce isn't a vision anymore. This is what it looks like in production." Sabrina Zahn liked thisSabrina Zahn liked this"The CMO should report into the CRO. That's just how it should be." Someone said that on a call yesterday. It triggered me. Not because they're wrong. Sometimes it's exactly right. I've worked with CROs where this worked. They owned the whole revenue engine, not just the sales number. They understood marketing well enough to challenge it. They knew when to step in, and when to get out of the way. When a CRO is actually that, the reporting line is a gift. But that's not most orgs. In most orgs, the "CRO" is a Head of Sales in a CRO jacket. → Marketing gets measured on how many leads it handed sales this quarter → Brand, positioning, and long-term pipeline get treated as overhead → And the moment marketing pushes back, it loses (because the person it reports to has never had to think past the quarter) The hard part was never the title. It's the ego. A real CRO can say: "I don't fully understand this part of the engine. I need someone who does." A Head of Sales in a CRO jacket can't. So marketing ends up reporting into someone quietly threatened by it. The reporting line was never the problem. Whether the person at the top of revenue is secure enough to admit what they don't know, that's the problem. Fix that first. Then we can talk org charts

This is honestly my favorite time to work. At least 50% of my business right now is running LinkedIn for clients who are really good at their actual jobs and have zero interest in figuring this out (or ever visiting this platform again). 4 signs this is you: 1. You posted 2x in January and called it a strategy 2. You spent 45 minutes writing a post, decided it sounded too salesy, and deleted it 3. You opened LinkedIn, looked at a competitor's profile, felt bad, closed it 4. You've been "working on your LinkedIn presence" for six months and have posted once l 5. Every caption starts with "Excited to share..." and you know it's not right but you post it anyway There are people who actually enjoy this stuff (hint hint). Weird, but true. Drop a 👋 if you want to know what handing this off actually looks like.

What if Erewhon, Whole Foods Market, and a boutique hotel in SoHo had a baby? The result…Happier Grocer. The shopping experience feels curated, intentional, and honestly…pretty cool. It was cool to see many of my friends brands here. The real showstoppers? The hot bar, prepared foods, and café. It felt like a real community experience. The downside? I checked my bank account halfway through the store and suddenly understood why the lighting was so dim. I am too poor for this elevated experience. I was loving the “free”water station. Will this be the new norm for city grocers?

Standing at Costco D12 next to a CEO I resigned to just over two months ago in front of the product we commercialized together next to a product I now get to sell. When I told her I had accepted an opportunity to take a dream job her response was “I’m so happy for you!” And now here we are, still standing together, albeit for different brands, delivering value to the member and having a blast doing it. It’s amazing, and I’m so grateful, for how many former colleagues have become my greatest friends. Love you Stephanie Paras! ❤️
