“Robert Landavazo began working for Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA) in December 2007. He jumped right in, feet first and took charge of the MVRDA IT issues. Among his accomplishments, Robert has developed and implemented a database that tracks work console and training assignments as well as sick call outs and mandates for overtime work. He also set up and maintains the MVRDA public web site and employee Intranet site. Robert has been instrumental in moving MVRDA forward by taking the lead in several projects. Those include setting up a new networked training room complete with a training server and database. He was effective in coordinating a call pilot on the telephone system to assist in “triaging” non-emergency telephone calls. He also lead the MVRDA remote back-up project that uses a microwave link to provide real-time back up of MVRDA databases and files to a remote site. Robert is also leading the Mobile Data Terminal projected expected to be operational by the end of the year. Robert eagerly accepts all challenges and consistently delivers positive results. Along with his leadership skills and initiative, Robert Landavazo also has the capability to be able to deal effectively and efficiently with the end user. He listens, evaluates, and then sets out to fix the problem. Robert’s time here at MVRDA has been a great asset to us and has allowed MVRDA to make great advances in the technology realm. I hope to have him with us for many more years. Robert was voted MVRDA Employee of the Month in March 2008 and MVRDA Administrative Staff Person of the Year in April 2008. He was also recently honored as the recipient of the APCO/NENA IT Person of the Year Award for the entire State of New Mexico.”
