As a long-time Firefox user, it is great to see continued momentum behind new Web Platform features landing in Firefox. A useful reminder for all of us building modern web applications is this: always start with what the platform already gives you. Native Web Platform capabilities are often: ⚡ More performant by default 🧠 Better aligned with browser optimisations ♿ More accessible out of the box 🛠️ Easier to maintain over time 🔗 Less dependent on third-party abstractions It is easy to reach for libraries or frameworks to solve problems we assume are complex. But more often than not, the platform has quietly evolved to handle those use cases natively. Choosing native features first does not mean avoiding tools entirely. It means being deliberate. Use the platform as your foundation, and layer complexity only where it genuinely adds value. Browsers like Firefox continuing to push forward with new platform features is a strong signal. The gap between what we need and what the web natively provides is getting smaller. If we pay attention to that, we can build faster, lighter, and more resilient experiences. 🚀

Spot on. And sadly, this dysfunction often mirrors how companies treat their internal QA/E teams, too. We often see internal Testing treated as a separate 'service desk' rather than a distinct specialism embedded in the team. It leads to bad incentives, like forcing brilliant Quality Experts to become automators just to tick a box. I am glad to see a shift towards Quality Coaching and holistic quality partnership, though. We need fewer gatekeepers and more enablers who help teams own their quality. Let’s keep drumming that beat! 🎶
