Joe McCray liked thisJoe McCray liked thisThe LLM generates and reasons. RAG brings the right knowledge. Vector databases store meaning. Agents decide what to do next. MCP connects tools and systems. Guardrails define what is allowed. Evals check whether the output is actually useful. That is why I think of modern AI less like a bot and more like a factory. A factory does not produce quality output because of one powerful machine. It works because every layer is designed properly: inputs, process, operators, safety checks, quality control, and monitoring. AI is moving in the same direction. The companies that win with AI will not be the ones that only pick the best model. They will be the ones that build the best operating system around the model. Great AI is not just a powerful model. It is a well-run factory.

MODEL & USAGE /extra-usage - Unlocks extended usage when limits hit. /model [model] - Switches to Sonnet, Opus, or Haiku. /cost - Shows token usage for the current session. /usage - Shows plan limits and rate-limit status. Joe McCray liked thisJoe McCray liked thisIn this article, The AFIT Foundation will be recognizing Major, USAF (Retired) Darryl Mosley, CISSP, CCISO, CEH, PMP, Senior Director for Defense Cyber and Mission Systems Group at Silotech Group, Inc. Major Mosley received his MS in Information Resource Management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in 1998. He joined the military due to a desire to continue a legacy of service. Major Mosley’s father was a career Air Force veteran, and his grandfather served under General Patton in World War II. After 20 years of service, Major Mosley retired from the Air Force and entered defense contracting to continue to contribute. He is now the Senior Director for Business Development and Capture at Silotech Group Inc. Major Mosley’s favorite memory from AFIT was the first day of class when he realized he was actually in graduate school after growing up even wondering if he would be able to go to college. The Air Force made it possible for him. He also enjoyed meeting his classmates and forging bonds and friendships that last to this day. AFIT helped Major Mosley develop and sharpen tools he needed daily in his personal and professional life, such as problem solving and navigating group dynamics to achieve a common goal. It also helped to broaden his horizons, hone his critical thinking skills, and expose him to new perspectives. When asked about what advice he would give to those considering entering the military, Major Mosley said to stay focused on your goals - the military can be physically and mentally demanding, so stay locked in on why you joined. He also writes, “Embrace the challenge - the environment can be hard, but each challenge is a chance to grow; Learn to adapt - like we say in the Air Force, flexibility is the key to airpower. Change is inevitable, but don't get discouraged by setbacks. Every setback is a setup for a comeback. Ask questions and learn - don't be afraid to ask questions and learn from those around you. There will always be someone that knows more. This is important to your continued growth.” Thank you, Major Mosley!
