Jenna Zak reposted thisI’ll be speaking at Cloudflare Connect; 19th - 21st October. The session will discuss how we do agentic engineering at the edge, and how we got there. https://lnkd.in/dEVP6D-q

Jenna Zak reposted thisJenna Zak reposted thisHats off to Cloudflare once again 👏 They built a 'Convince your boss' page for Connect 2026. It's literally a ready-to-send email to your manager, with the agenda, cost breakdown down to the meals, and even a post-conference commitment section. Tiny detail, huge empathy. Someone over there clearly knows the hardest part of attending a conference isn't the flight. It's the Slack message to your manager. 😅 Love this kind of thinking. https://lnkd.in/dgVf8_-A

Jenna Zak shared thisTHIS! 👇Jenna Zak shared thisThere’s a conversation happening right now about Encore, hotel partnerships, and what it all means for our industry. And honestly? It’s one we should have been having a lot louder, a lot sooner. Because this isn’t just about AV. It’s about what we value in the experience economy. When pricing power becomes the headline and revenue-based commissions are the model, we have to ask a harder question: who is this actually serving? From where I sit, leading an experiential agency that lives and dies by the quality of what we deliver, the impact is real: → Budgets get eaten up by equipment instead of experience → Creativity gets constrained before it even has a chance → Clients are forced into decisions that prioritize contracts over outcomes → And the talent on-site often doesn’t match the caliber of the brands in the room That last one is the quiet part no one wants to say out loud—but it matters. A lot. We talk endlessly about events being a growth driver, a brand builder, and a community engine. And then we put structural barriers in place that make it harder (and more expensive) to deliver on that promise. That’s the disconnect. To be clear, this isn’t about one company being “good” or “bad.” It’s about a system that’s become overly optimized for revenue extraction instead of experience impact. And when hotels are financially incentivized to steer clients toward higher spend regardless of whether it’s the right spend, we all lose: The brand loses flexibility The audience loses quality The experience loses its edge The irony? The industry is talking about more immersive, more meaningful, more human experiences, especially as an antidote to growing AI and digital clutter, while simultaneously making them harder to execute.. That math doesn’t work. So what do we do? We get smarter. More proactive. More vocal. We negotiate harder. We push for transparency. We design with intention. And we advocate for our clients, for the work, and for the standard we believe this industry should uphold. Because if we don’t challenge this now, we’re not just accepting higher costs… We’re accepting lower expectations. And that’s not a trade I’m willing to make. Jenna Zak posted thisThe last few days have been really sad. Cloudflare said goodbye to a lot of incredibly talented people, and I keep thinking about how many of them are genuinely some of the best humans I’ve worked with across the company but especially in marketing. Events people especially are built differently. The calm in the chaos people. The ones solving problems at midnight, carrying impossible timelines, fixing things before anyone notices, and somehow still being kind while doing it. I really want to help two former teammates land somewhere quickly. One has extensive experience running large tradeshows and tier 1 sponsorship programs at scale. Smart, strategic, operationally solid, and the type of person you trust immediately with massive programs and a million moving parts. He’s pretty fun too! The other focuses on high touch brand and executive experiences. Thoughtful, meticulous, incredibly organized, and honestly just a joy to work with. The kind of person that makes teams better by being on them. She is simply the best! If anyone knows of openings in events, experiential, sponsorships, executive programs, field marketing, or brand experiences, I’d truly appreciate any leads or introductions for them.

Jenna Zak shared thisWatching my sister, Erika Zak, go through years of treatment, uncertainty, strength, exhaustion, humor, fear, and survival changes the way you see the world. It also changes the way you understand courage. Thank you to James L. Drake for telling her story since she is no longer able to. If you’re a director, producer, literary manager, or theater partner interested in being part of this project, please reach out to James.Jenna Zak shared thisI’ve spent the better part of the last year immersed in a story that demands to be told with absolute honesty. My latest script, Courage, dear heart, follows the five-year journey of a family navigating the intersection of a "Pinterest-perfect" domestic life and the raw, clinical reality of a medical crisis. This project is a personal one, based on the true story of Erika Zak. My goal has been to move beyond the typical tropes of a medical drama and capture the clinical grit—the 70 rounds of chemo, the bureaucratic hurdles, and the quiet, non-verbal moments where a family chooses strength over despair. I’ve just completed a major surgical revision of the script, focusing on the pacing and the unique theatrical devices that bring this world to life. It’s been a grueling process, but the work is now leaner, more visceral, and ready for the next stage. I’m currently looking for developmental partners—directors, literary managers, and theaters—who are interested in exploring a high-stakes, realistic drama through a workshop or table read. It’s a story about the "tartan" of our lives and what happens when the threads start to pull. I can't wait to see where it lands next. #Playwriting #NewWork #TheatreDevelopment #CourageDearHeart #Storytelling

Jenna Zak shared thisFirsts are always the hardest - and the most rewarding. Our team pulled off the inaugural global Cloudflare Connect, and it was one for the books. Proud of the team for setting a new bar... now we just have to figure out how to top it. 🔥 There were hundreds of Cloudflarians that helped support this event from leadership, marketing, GTM, partner, product and engineering, developer, finance, strategy, procurement, PR/comms, AR and legal but a well deserved shout out to our small yet mighty strategic events team - Leslie Hasvold, Tara Shuert, Crystal Komoroski, MBA, Rey Fernandez, Sara Richards, and Megan Merlo. We also couldn’t have asked for better partners so thank you Agency EA, Invision, BW Events Tech, Version4, Validar Inc, Braindate,ARIA Resort & Casino and Brooklyn Bowl #CloudflareConnect

Jenna Zak liked thisJenna Zak liked thisA little weekend sappiness, because today is worth celebrating! 🥳 So if you need some positivity going into this week, here it is… My husband, Eli Stevenson-Greiss, landed in Las Vegas for Fal.Con 2026 for his *first* major event with CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader and his NEW employer! Fittingly, today is ALSO the birthday of Julie DeQuattro, Event Marketer’s 2026 B2B Dream Team winner and one of the best humans I know in the #experientialmarketing industry. We met through Club Ichi at Secret Family Reunion in New Zealand, an international gathering built for experiential marketing professionals. Julie’s optimistic energy shaped that trip for a lot of us… but her generosity didn’t end when we landed back home. After seeing Eli’s video editing work throughout the trip, Julie recommended him for the role he now holds at CrowdStrike. He earned it, but he wouldn’t have had the shot without her, without SFR 2026, and without the community Nicole Osibodu, XOXO and Liz Lathan, CMP have built. This is what I love about the experiential and events industry: the relationships aren’t transactional. They turn into careers, into opportunities, into genuine gratitude on a random Sunday. ✨ Happy birthday, Julie. Thank you for being exactly who you are, and for opening doors and paving the way for us all. #EventProfs #EventMarketing

Jenna Zak liked thisJenna Zak liked thisEvery great event ends with a curtain call - and this is mine. After twelve incredible weeks as an events intern, I am saying goodbye to #Cloudflare and starting my Senior year at Indiana University. As I reflect on my internship, I feel fortunate to have worked alongside an amazing team who inspired me to constantly be better. From my first site visit to my first tradeshow, I learned, planned and managed with some of the best people in the business. Here are a few highlights I’m especially proud of: ○ Helped manage Cloudflare’s presence at Black Hat, from owning attendee registration, including our roomblock, to staffing our booth and managing our executive meeting room. ○ Optimized internal event collateral, from revamping internal collaboration pages with key event details and information to creating Black Hat specific “need to know” playbook to ensure optimal coordination. ○ Traveled to Las Vegas to collaborate with the team to assess hotels and venues with the final deliverable being a post trip report, complete with budgets for a critical annual Cloudflare event. My internship experience covered the full event lifecycle from pre-event preparation to onsite execution. The pace was fast. The pressure was high. And the praise of a successfully executed event made it all worthwhile. Beyond the bright lights of Las Vegas, I wanted to say thank you to: ● My fellow San Francisco-based interns. ● Sara Richards for allowing me to shadow you during our site visit. ● And to Leslie Hasvold, my manager, for her amazing leadership and her trust in me. I came into this internship with so much to learn, and I can confidently say I am leaving with invaluable hands-on experience, new skills, and strengthened passion for my future career in event management. Thank you Cloudflare for the best twelve weeks! As I head into my final year at IU, I am ready to apply everything I’ve learned into my coursework. Here’s to the next chapter!#cloudflare #internet

Jenna Zak liked thisJenna Zak liked thisIt’s the end of an era. Today is my last day at Cloudflare after a little more than three years, and I’ve had the chance to work on some pretty meaningful things along the way. Together, my team and I architected and launched an AI-powered personalized nurture engine, a global consent framework built around privacy regulations, and a global lifecycle and recycled-lead engine that returned 20 hours a week to BDRs by eliminating manual work. More recently, I’ve been helping transform Marketing toward self-service and co-leading our Marketing AI Council. Some of the most high-impact work is the work most people never see. I had the privilege of doing a lot of that work here, alongside people who cared deeply about getting it right. I'll remember those people the most. Some of you I’ve known for years. Others I’ve only gotten to know since Q2. However long we worked together, you made a lasting impact on me, and I’m grateful for the time we spent in the trenches together building a better Internet. A new adventure starts Monday because I'm apparently incapable of relaxing, but for now, our time together feels much too short. Please stay in touch. 🧡

The bar for events just keeps rising. Attendees want to learn faster. Brands need experiences that drive revenue. Executives demand immediate ROI. And somehow, teams are supposed to deliver all of this with tighter budgets and timelines. Events aren't standalone moments, they're entire ecosystems. Part product launch, part content engine, part relationship accelerator. As we build toward CES, I keep coming back to one question: How do you turn that pressure into opportunity? For us, it starts with architecting experiences, not just designing spaces. It's about creating connection points across every touchpoint. Storytelling that carries from hospitality suite to content stage to post-event follow-up. The build is just one piece. The real work is engineering how people move, learn, and connect throughout the entire experience. More on what we're architecting as CES approaches!

💡 After nearly 30 years in the events industry, one pattern keeps repeating. Too many organizers are juggling bloated tech stacks: · Multiple vendors that don’t talk to each other · Products that haven’t meaningfully evolved in years · Platforms bought, sold, and rebranded—leaving customers stuck with uncertainty The result? More complexity, more risk, and less value delivered to exhibitors and attendees. What I’m seeing work today is the opposite mindset: Less is more. Stable partners. Purpose-built technology. Continuous innovation—not bolt-ons or band-aids. That’s why I’m proud to be part of Map Your Show—a company that’s works with 60 of the Tradeshow Executive 100 shows and continues to invest heavily in the future. Over the past year alone, we’ve launched and enhanced products focused on: · Exhibitor ROI and lead enrichment · Deeper analytics and event health insights · Smarter floor plans, mobile experiences, and integrations · Ongoing feature updates driven directly by customer feedback No noise. No churn. Just steady. #EventTech
