Here's a summary: Allied Airlift 21 (AA21), a volunteer led nonprofit helping Afghan Allies legally immigrate to the United States, seeks an Operations Intern for Summer 2022 for work related to crisis response and diplomatic operations. This person will help develop business processes for tracking and managing family cases, coordinating volunteer taskings, developing training materials and train volunteer staff, and participating in regular meetings with senior government officials and other NGOs. Additionally, this person will be involved in the transition of cases from a Google platform to Salesforce. Experience with data management and analytics is a plus.

Tommy Shelton and I are working up a JD for a chief of staff / VP of Icosian Capital. It'll be a paid gig, though I'll tell you now that we aren't talking about a king's ransom. Term would be 6 months with the option to extend for the right match. Ideal candidate is a former banker or consultant that may be on their way to b school and considering standing up their own fund. Charles Leonard reacted on thisCharles Leonard reacted on thisVery proud to share that Shine On has been recognized as part of Bucknell University’s 30 Under 30! 💛 This one feels especially meaningful because Bucknell is where so much of Shine On began. It’s where many of us met, became close friends, and—without realizing it at the time—built the relationships that would eventually become the foundation of this organization. Over the past four years, Shine On has awarded nearly 40 scholarships to underrepresented young women pursuing higher education, including 17 scholars in 2026. Seeing what this organization has grown into, and more importantly, the incredible women we’ve had the privilege of supporting along the way, is something I’m incredibly proud of. I feel very lucky to be building Shine On alongside Elizabeth O'Hare, Taylor Sears, Sophia Klaber, Megan Bugniazet, Meghan Egan, Olivia Amoruso. What started as a group of friends wanting to make a difference has become so much bigger than we ever imagined—and none of it would be possible without the scholars, mentors, donors, partners, friends and families who continue to believe in what we’re building. There is still so much more we want to do, but moments like this are a pretty special reminder to look back at how far we’ve come. I'd like to share something about my experience at NFA that I believe has made my life as an IT security executive much easier. No PowerPoint. I have not been asked to produce a PowerPoint presentation once - not for my risk committee, not for my Board of Directors, not for the management group. 10 months. Not. One. Slide. No meetings about graphics, templates, font positioning – no army of business analysts or consultants trying to find a new, pithy way to convey the same information. No debates about box colors, images, bullet sizes, or fighting the 'nudge' feature (IYKYK). We use memorandums – yes, which contain graphs and visualizations, but sparingly. The meat is the text. Oh, and people read the memos – I mean actually read them – and they are expected to read them. I have found this has increased the quality, clarity, and brevity of communication and enables meetings that normally might be 90 minutes to be done in 45. This may not work for every firm at every scale – but if you can pull it off and integrate it into your corporate culture, so much time and money can be reclaimed – time spent with the team, solving problems, improving processes, making discoveries – and sometimes just thinking. I know this is not novel – but it’s the first time I've lived it.

It is an honor to join a world-class team whose vision is to free everyone to safely use any technology. Having the opportunity to continue serving U.S. government customers as they strengthen their security and identity strategies is a privilege I do not take lightly. Public service has always been deeply important to me, and I am grateful to continue supporting those who dedicate their lives to serving others in this new role. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet many of my new teammates in the Chicago office, and the experience was outstanding. From my very first interview through my first week, it has been clear that Okta has built an exceptional culture centered on talented people, collaboration, and a shared commitment to customer success. I had the chance to connect with teammates from across the country, including several from Virginia, and every conversation reinforced that I’m joining a team of people who genuinely care about one another and about helping customers succeed. I could not be more optimistic about what lies ahead. As I begin this new chapter, I’m also profoundly grateful for my five years at Magnet Forensics, including my time with the amazing Grayshift team. I had the privilege of working alongside some of the most talented and mission-driven people I have ever known. Together, we partnered with law enforcement, the military, and the intelligence community to protect communities, strengthen national security, and seek justice for victims. That mission means a great deal to me, and it always will. I am especially thankful for the friendships I built with colleagues, customers, and partners alike. Whether we connected through a shared commitment to public service, running, our faith, or our families, those relationships have enriched my life in countless ways. To everyone at Magnet Forensics, Grayshift, and the many federal agencies and mission partners I had the privilege to serve: thank you for your trust, friendship, encouragement, and support. You have helped shape both my career and the person I am today. Now, my focus turns fully to the future. Made it as far as exiting consulting, then turned right around and came back to work for Katie Clare, an excellent CISO, as her Global Senior Director of Security Operations. Best U-turn I've made in a while! We got a lot done in the past year and a half: → Reduced critical vulnerabilities → Improved BCG's Attack Surface Management score → Brought in a new CSPM tool and streamlined our vuln management process → Started investigating AI SOC solutions → Grew the team and got a new SIEM capability onboarded → Accelerated our offensive security program → Helped security show up as a business enabler, contributing to $40M+ in new business → Responded to just a few incidents (as one does) None of that happens solo. Rajan Wadhwa, Spyridon Fragkanastasis, Chris Stacey, Aamir Khurshid, Abhishek Verma, Shouvik Kar, pradeep chaudhary, Sarthak Chaudhary and Edwin Shajan, thank you for building this with me. You are an excellent team and I look forward to working with you again. There are so many others to thank as well Shaun Wityak, Nathaniel Parker, Juliana Christiani, Gregory Keches, Steve Damadeo, and Holly Slonim for plenty of grounding chats. Chris Hall, Elver Naranjo, William Ng, Ian McCormack, David Jambor, George Maev and Chris Murphy - It was great partnering with you on the IT side of the house to improve Cyber where it starts. Colin Troha, Clark O'Niell and Nadine Moore - The past year and a half wouldn't have been possible without you along with Mike Ford and Juan Elizondo. I'm sure I've missed some key people! Time to take a break. I've been doing a genuinely terrible job of that so far, and if we've talked in the past few weeks, you already know this. Between (attempting to) relax, Black Hat and DefCon, rewiring my home network, migrating to a new NAS and a few TTX projects for clients, I'm not entirely sure what's next. Honestly... kind of enjoying that part! Lots of great conversations happening right now that I'm excited about, and I'm looking forward to a few more. If you've got one in mind, let's talk.

Over the past decade, the firm gave me the opportunity to pursue my passion alongside some of the most talented, dedicated, and principled professionals in the industry. I am deeply grateful for the colleagues, clients, and teams I had the privilege of working with throughout this chapter of my career. PwC welcomed an outsider into the partnership, trusting me to lead complex cybersecurity challenges, build exceptional teams, and represent one of the world’s most respected brands. That trust was never lost on me. In my career thus far, I have been fortunate to work at several outstanding organizations, but being part of PwC has truly been a singular honor. I look forward to the next chapter of my career and to continuing to work on difficult, important, and rewarding cybersecurity challenges ahead.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent most of my career there and to have watched it grow into the organization it is today. I am not leaving because I am tired, burned out, or uneasy about change. I am leaving because life is unpredictable, and I want to make room for new experiences while I can. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my career, to those I’ve had the privilege of getting to know beyond the workplace, and to all of my ERM colleagues and cohorts. I am grateful for the experiences, friendships, and lessons along the way. Best wishes to all!
