The future of water innovation was on display at this year's #StockholmJuniorWaterPrize, where students from more than 40 countries showcased solutions to some of the world's most pressing water challenges. Congratulations to Moroti Adegboyega (Canada), winner of the 2026 Stockholm Junior Water Prize, for developing Ecoferroquatics, an #AI-guided platform that selectively removes plastic from water while helping protect marine life. His project demonstrates the power of combining science, technology and creativity to address a growing global challenge. We also recognize Laura Ivanka (Hungary), recipient of the Diploma of Excellence, for her innovative and entrepreneurial approach to water solutions, and Basmala Diab (Egypt), winner of the People's Choice Award, for transforming agricultural waste into a tool for cleaner water and energy. As a founding global sponsor of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, we are inspired by the talent, curiosity and determination of these young innovators. Today, we announced an agreement to acquire Cornell and Roper, U.S.-based pump businesses serving industrial and municipal applications. The acquisition expands Xylem's participation in mission-critical applications and strengthens our portfolio with highly engineered pumping technologies and specialized expertise. Cornell Pump Company, LLC and Roper Pump Company bring decades of application expertise across construction and mining, food and beverage, agriculture, energy and municipal markets. At a time when infrastructure, industry and communities are placing greater demands on water systems, these added capabilities will broaden our ability to help customers address increasingly complex water and infrastructure challenges. Water has long been essential to every industry, but it's increasingly becoming a strategic constraint. As AI infrastructure expands, advanced manufacturing grows and climate pressures intensify, demand for reliable water resources continues to rise. Yet despite underpinning more than 60% of global GDP, water still attracts only a small fraction of climate-related investment. In a recent interview with Global Corporate Venturing, Sivan Zamir shares why the water sector's biggest challenge isn't a lack of innovation, but the ability to scale proven solutions. From reducing "death by pilot" and accelerating commercialization to building stronger partnerships across utilities, investors, regulators and technology providers, the focus must shift from simply developing new technologies to deploying them more effectively. As Sivan notes, innovation delivers its greatest value when it reaches customers and communities at scale. Lake County Lake Lovers is a volunteer-led initiative working to improve the health of local lakes in Illinois. Over seven months, 31 volunteers sampled 12 lakes twice a month, logging more than 2,800 hours and sharing data publicly to track progress and inspire community action that led to real improvements in nearby waters. Local passion, accessible technology and transparent data are turning neglected lakes into learning hubs where volunteers, students and community leaders can come together to tackle water challenges and build healthier ecosystems for generations to come. https://lnkd.in/eSM2g3GA #LetsSolveWater
