A surreal and meaningful milestone — celebrating the topping out of the Houston Methodist Centennial Tower. What began during my internship in 2019 turned into a six-year journey filled with dedication, learning, and countless hours of hard work. The structure is almost complete and I’m incredibly proud and honored to be part of the team that brought it to life. This will be the tallest hospital in the Texas Medical Center, designed to serve patients and support medical professionals with state-of-the-art facilities for decades to come. It’s been a privilege to be part of the Walter P Moore structural team, collaborating with such an incredible AEC group. Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to something that will have such a lasting impact. Page | Vaughn Construction | Jacobs | Affiliated Engineers, Inc. | Keystone

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital (CHOA) is a transformative 2-million-square-foot facility redefining pediatric healthcare in Georgia and the Southeast. Located at the high-visibility intersection of North Druid Hills Road and I-85, the hospital provides seamless access to top-tier clinicians while serving as a major anchor for one of the region’s most significant healthcare real estate developments. The 19-story, 446-bed hospital was thoughtfully designed to reflect the healing power of nature. Its strategic placement and architectural orientation optimize access, visibility, and functionality—both for clinical care and long-term operational flexibility. The expansive site spans 76 acres, with a master plan that balances medical innovation with open space and community connection. Key features of the hospital include Georgia’s only dedicated Level I pediatric trauma center, a state-of-the-art infusion center, Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (PICU and NICU), advanced surgical suites, and cutting-edge diagnostic technologies. It is also home to the Marcus Center for Cellular Therapy, which includes a Good Manufacturing Practice lab supporting groundbreaking cellular therapy research. The hospital serves as a teaching hub through its partnerships with Emory University and Morehouse School of Medicine, training the next generation of pediatric specialists. The inclusion of specialized academic and research spaces positions the facility as a destination for both care and innovation. Designed with long-term efficiency in mind, the hospital integrates flexible infrastructure and automated systems that streamline operations, reduce logistical bottlenecks, and support future expansion. Automated Mobile Robots (AMRs), dedicated AMR elevators, and centralized supply chains improve throughput and free clinical staff to focus on patient care. The development emphasizes a holistic approach to healing and community engagement. More than 20 acres of preserved green space and miles of walking trails link hospital buildings and invite public use, creating a campus that functions as both a medical facility and a community asset. Spacious patient rooms, family-friendly amenities, and panoramic views of Atlanta’s skylines and tree canopy reinforce the connection between environment and well-being. CHOA also invested more than $40 million in traffic and infrastructure improvements, enhancing connectivity and access throughout the surrounding area. As a landmark development in metro Atlanta, the hospital not only advances pediatric care but also contributes significant economic value and quality-of-life enhancements to the region.
