Each brings an opportunity to simplify work, strengthen controls, or reduce manual effort. Quick Receipts: A centralized receiving experience allows users to receipt multiple purchase orders from one screen, helping speed up receiving while supporting accrual accuracy and reducing invoice match exceptions. Distribution Network for Multiple Companies: Organizations with centralized inventory operations can share a single distribution network across multiple companies, reducing duplicate setup and simplifying ongoing maintenance. Self-Service Security for Change Orders: Requisition requesters can make changes to purchase orders generated from their requisitions, helping reduce buyer workload and speed up PO maintenance. Expense Protect: Potential AI-Generated Receipt Risk Score Machine learning helps identify potentially AI-generated or altered receipts and assigns a risk score, helping reviewers focus attention on higher-risk expenses and strengthen controls. Customer Invoice Document Attachments: Integrations can add supporting documents to customer invoices without triggering reapproval, helping AR teams automate documentation and keep invoice backup in one place. One important detail: each of these features requires setup. Workday delivers two major feature releases each year, supplemented by ongoing updates between them. Each release brings functionality that has to be evaluated, tested, and decided on. Workday 2026R2 brought several updates for Time & Absence, but two stood out to one of The Planet Group’s Workday consultants. New Revise Time Off Experience for Absence: Sent-back time off requests can now be corrected directly from the absence calendar, with a yellow visual indicator making them easier to identify. For teams managing time off, that means a clearer, more intuitive way to spot requests that need attention and make corrections. Donate Time Off - Peer to Peer: This update introduces dedicated business process and security capabilities for peer-to-peer time off donations. Instead of relying on manual accrual adjustments for donors and recipients, teams have a more structured way to manage the process within Workday. For Time & Absence teams, both updates help simplify processes that can require extra administrative effort.
