Florida Healthy Start's Traveling Crib is currently set up at our Tallahassee Community Connections Center through August 1, offering a hands-on way to promote infant safe sleep practices. This mobile display is part of a broader effort to educate families and caregivers on the ABCs of Safe Sleep. By meeting families where they are, the Traveling Crib initiative helps reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths and ensures that parents and caregivers receive consistent, evidence-based guidance. At Sunshine Health, we’re proud to support community-based solutions that protect our youngest and most vulnerable populations. Sunshine Health was honored to sponsor the 27th Annual Family Café, Florida’s largest event supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. We were proud to provide on-site case management and host Henry’s Friendly Farm Sensory Playroom, a therapeutic space designed to support emotional regulation and engagement for children and families. Our Vice President of Child Welfare Programs, Julie Smythe, had the privilege of introducing keynote speakers Kenny Taylor and his daughter, Cesily Colette Taylor, an actress and disability advocate, who shared a powerful message of resilience and advocacy. We remain committed to partnering with organizations that create impactful experiences for the communities we serve. As the 2025 hurricane season begins, Sunshine Health supported hurricane preparedness events across Florida on June 7. In Tampa, we supported a drive-thru event in partnership with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Farm Share, Rebuilding Together Greater Florida, and Global Empowerment Mission, we served 5,000 households with emergency kits including food, water, wellness supplies, and more. A heartfelt thank you to the 89 Sunshine Health volunteers who served at the event, and to our incredible community partners for standing together in our mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
