We recently hosted 600 team members, their spouses/significant others, and children for an employee appreciation party! It was a wonderful time with plenty of activities like a photo booth, bounce house, cornhole, and a delicious cookout with ice cream treats. Plus, the team had a blast enjoying the venue’s waterpark, swimming pool, fishing pond, mini golf, and more. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of our employees. Last week, members of our national field training team and our Columbus branch office spent a morning at CK Construction’s headquarters near Columbus, OH. They talked with Project Managers, Estimators, and Superintendents about where S.A. Comunale fits into the process and timeline of a construction project— exploring ways we can work together to help ensure a smart build, protecting both property and lives. Our team gave an overview on how we utilize various design platforms, discussed advances in fire protection systems, and showcased various types of sprinkler heads and alarm systems which included a hands-on experience with our valve trailer. Some of CK's team members even tested their extinguishing skills with our burn pan. We recently celebrated the retirement of Steve Salmen, who has spent 44 remarkable years in the industry—25 of those with S.A. Comunale as a layout technician. Based in our Youngstown, OH, office, Steve invested more than 50,000 hours in sprinkler design, working on projects across the country and consistently exceeding client expectations. "My biggest regret is not joining S.A. Comunale sooner," Steve said when asked about reflections on his career. "In conference rooms with general contractors, building owners, architects, and engineers, I was respected as the sprinkler design expert... I couldn't have dreamed of working anywhere else and enjoying it as much as I did here." Thank you for all your incredible work Steve! We were thrilled to conduct a sprinkler and alarm training at the City of Kent's Fire Department. We brought along our customized training trailer and fresh popped popcorn and were joined by Fire Chiefs, Lieutenants, Captains, Fire Inspectors, and Firefighters from Ravenna, Brimfield, Atwater, Aurora, and Kent State University Our in-house training team gave an overview of the most common sprinkler heads we install and inspect. The hands-on session allowed members of the fire brigades to step onto and interact with the trailer, which is outfitted with functioning fire protection risers, including wet, dry, single, and double interlocked pre action systems. We also covered the operation of all valves and alarms associated with those systems, as well as nitrogen systems. #EMCOR #FireProtection #FireSafety #Training #FireDepartment
