This week, I took an exciting new step in my career. Many of you are probably already aware, but I made the challenging decision to depart SHI in May. The team I had there was amazing, and there are so many people I will miss. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities it provided and for my time working with Thai Lee and so many of the other amazing leaders there. But sometimes you just know something isn’t the right fit or the right long-term opportunity, and despite how many things were great about SHI and the people there, I knew there was something specific I was looking for. Initially, I thought I was going back to the world of startups and returning to cybersecurity (which, for anyone who knows me, is an area I am incredibly passionate about). But after a random call with a recruiter I had never met, I decided to take a call with one of the leaders at Mythics, and what I heard reminded me of the very things that made me want to build something again. The culture, the values, the focus, and the opportunity were all there. Despite having commitments to fund a new venture, I am excited to say that I made the decision to join the Mythics team as CTO to lead Technology & AI Strategy. After meeting with some of the incredible team here, including Paul Seifert, Doug Altamura, Tim Paydos, investors, and even one of the original founders of the business, it was clear that there was a distinct intersection of the kind of company culture I’ve enjoyed in the past, the needs of the business that align with my strengths, and the company’s position in the market to accomplish something great. Those signs were just too hard to ignore, and I am excited to already be diving in and learning the business. This week I am already out in Virginia Beach at our headquarters, getting to meet more of the amazing people who made this business the incredible success it already is. Mythics team, thank you for the warm welcome and all the welcome emails and LinkedIn messages. I am excited to be here and look forward to doing great things together.
