Moving faster and becoming more efficient aren’t always the same thing. Sometimes the most efficient move is to spend a little more time on the front end. The right information can prevent rework, unnecessary cost, another shipment, or a decision that has to be reversed later. On this episode of Nose to Tail, Fernando Bertrand explains why Bonus Tech is willing to pause long enough to give customers the information and options they need, even when that might momentarily seem like it's slowing the action. Speed measures how quickly something moves. Efficiency asks whether it’s moving toward the right outcome. #Aviation #AviationMaintenance #MRO #AviationIndustry

  • Jet Midwest is at ACPC 2026 in Orlando. It’s been great reconnecting with customers, meeting new people, and having the kinds of conversations ACPC is known for: conversations about what operators need, what issues you’re facing, and where new opportunities are waiting. At Jet Midwest, those conversations happen regularly. We’ve built the inventory, expertise, systems, and processes to respond to everyday needs while also bringing the right people and capabilities together when the situation calls for something more. That depth allows us to look beyond the immediate request, uncover additional value, and build solutions around what the customer is really trying to accomplish. If you’re at ACPC, stop by Booths 609 & 824 and connect with our team. Let’s see what we can accomplish together. #JetMidwest #ACPC #AviationAftermarket #LifecycleSolutions #AviationIndustry

  • Continuous improvement starts by seeing the work from multiple perspectives. Continuous improvement begins with observation. Then it requires a deliberate way to bring different perspectives into the process: the experience of the people doing the work, leadership’s broader view, information that makes constraints visible, and customer insight about what creates real value. In this episode of Nose to Tail, Fernando Bertrand joins Patrick Kraus to explore how Lean methodology, Theory of Constraints, frontline expertise, and better visibility can work together to improve aviation operations. They discuss why speed and efficiency aren’t always the same thing, how information can lead to better customer decisions, and why continuous improvement is most powerful when it becomes part of how an organization thinks and operates. • Growth eventually creates a knowledge-transfer problem. The people who helped build the standard can’t personally perform, inspect, or explain every piece of work forever. That’s where training becomes more than workforce development. Experienced technicians can turn what they’ve learned into something the next person can understand, apply, and eventually teach again. Technical data, CMMs, hands-on guidance, and mentorship all help move knowledge from individuals into the organization itself. In this Nose to Tail soundbite, Rob Lastra explains how LF Avionics pairs experienced mechanics with younger people entering aviation so the standard can keep moving forward as the company grows. A standard becomes scalable when someone other than the person who created it can reproduce it correctly. #Aviation #AircraftMaintenance #MRO #Team

  • Jet Midwest was proud to sponsor a hole at United Airlines' “United We Care” Employee Relief Fund Golf Tournament in Chicago. It was a great couple of days on the course with a great crew, an opportunity to spend time with people across the aviation community while supporting a program that helps take care of United employees when they need it most. We’re grateful for the relationships, the opportunities to come together beyond the day-to-day, and a team that is always ready to show up, have some fun, and support a good cause. Thanks to United for bringing everyone together. Patrick Kraus Skyler Kring Mike Logan CMA #Aviation #UnitedAirlines #AviationCommunity #TeamJetMidwest #UnitedWeCare

  • Growth is exciting. It also creates new risks. More capacity means more places for things to slip through the cracks. Growth simply creates more places where information, accountability, and standards have to travel. What once worked through proximity, memory, and experience now has to become more deliberate: clearer process, better handoffs, stronger training, visible ownership, and a culture that helps people protect the standard even as complexity increases. The latest Nose to Tail blog looks at practical ways growing MROs can tighten that foundation, so added capacity doesn’t come at the expense of quality, confidence, or speed. • Jet Midwest is headed to ACPC in Orlando. Join us August 29 to September 1 as we connect with airline and supplier partners from across the industry. Air Carriers Purchasing Conference is an important forum for conversations around supply chain strategy, inventory, and the challenges operators are working through every day. For Jet Midwest, those conversations can start with a part, an engine, an aircraft, or a specific operational need. From there, our teams can draw on expertise across the organization to build practical solutions, uncover opportunities, and support customers wherever they are in the aircraft lifecycle. If you’ll be in Orlando for ACPC, we’d love to connect. Visit us at Booths 609 & 824. #JetMidwest #ACPC2026 #AviationAftermarket #AircraftParts #SupplyChain #AviationIndustry

  • Testing should challenge the diagnosis, not defend it. A reason for removal report gives a repair team an educated place to start. The process that follows is there to determine whether that initial assessment is accurate. Experience can point you toward the likely answer. Discipline means continuing to follow the evidence when it points somewhere else. That principle reaches well beyond aviation. If the goal is to justify an early hypothesis, it’s easy to find evidence that supports it. If the goal is to find the truth, you have a much better chance of solving the right problem the first time, saving all parties involved valuable time, money, and headache. • Growth creates more opportunities for success. It also creates more opportunities for things to slip through the cracks. More people. More customers. More capabilities. More handoffs. As an MRO expands, the answer is not simply a bigger version of the same operation. The foundation has to become more disciplined. That means turning experience into repeatable process, clarifying accountability, strengthening training, improving communication, and tightening the systems that protect quality as complexity increases. In this episode of Nose to Tail, Rob Lastra of LF Avionics and Patrick Kraus explore what this looks like as a repair operation expands. They discuss why the right structure can actually create more speed and confidence at scale. If you are responsible for growing a team, transferring knowledge, protecting quality, or improving how work moves through an organization, this conversation offers plenty to think about. Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/g46B6KRs Listen: https://lnkd.in/g_gfp84p A scalable operation does more than absorb more work. It makes good execution easier to repeat. #Aviation #AircraftMaintenance #MRO #Podcast

  • Community is built in the moments we share together. Jet Midwest’s Boat Regatta brought employees and their families together for a day by the water: swimming, fishing, cooking out, friendly competition, and plenty of time to catch up and enjoy the outdoors. It was a chance to step away from the day-to-day, share a meal, laugh a little, cheer each other on, and enjoy the company of the people who make Jet Midwest a community. We’re grateful for the people who bring their energy, humor, families, and friendship to Jet Midwest. Thank you to everyone who helped organize the day and to every team member who came out ready to connect, laugh, and be part of it. Moments like these matter. #Aviation #Team #Culture #StrongerTogether
