About us
Magnus Hendrickson started manufacturing commercial trucks in 1913 to meet the demand for robust, durable vehicles. The company introduced the first tandem suspension in 1926. From the beginning, Hendrickson's only business has been to serve the needs of the commercial vehicle industry. This focus, bolstered by an unrelenting pursuit of technological leadership, is the key to our status as the world leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality truck, tractor, and trailer suspensions, liftable suspensions, steel leaf springs, bumpers, and stamped components for the heavy-duty transportation market. Since its acquisition by The Boler Company in 1978, Hendrickson has grown five-fold. Today, Hendrickson is a major supplier to every North American heavy-duty truck and trailer OEM, as well as many manufacturers in Europe, Australia, Mexico, Japan, and Latin America. Our products are helping these partners increase durability, lower operating costs, enhance driver comfort, and reduce weight. And after producing more than 2,000,000 walking beam truck suspensions and 2,000,000 air-ride trailer suspensions, our goal continues to be providing the most technologically advanced and differentiated products available—today and for the road ahead. We value the opportunity to engage and connect with the industry, our customers, and the public on LinkedIn. CVSA Brake Safety Week may be coming to a close, but brake safety is a year-round commitment. Whether your fleet operates air disc or drum brakes, regular inspections are one of the best ways to help keep vehicles operating and avoid unexpected downtime. Looking for signs of wear, damage or improper brake operation during routine maintenance can help identify small issues before they become costly repairs or out-of-service violations. Consistent inspections also help ensure brake components are serviced or replaced at the appropriate time, supporting reliable brake performance and extending the life of your system. 🔗Visit www.hendrickson-intl.com for more information on brake safety and maintenance. #BrakeSafetyWeek #CVSA #FleetMaintenance #BrakeSafety

Brake drums and rotors often get the spotlight during CVSA Brake Safety Week, but friction material plays an equally important role in overall brake performance. To support proactive brake maintenance, Hendrickson MAXX22T air disc brakes are now available with the ZF Brake Pad Wear Sensor. This feature helps fleets monitor brake pad wear, identify when service is needed, and reduce unexpected downtime. 🔗Visit www.MAXX22T.com to learn more. #BrakeSafetyWeek #CVSA #FleetMaintenance #BrakeSafety

Hendrickson’s Walking Beam is engineered around a simple principle: keeping loads balanced and wheels engaged when the terrain gets tough. Key components work together to deliver the performance customers have relied on for generations: 💡Equalizing Beam – The foundation of the system. The beam distributes load between the tandem axles, helping maintain consistent weight balance across the suspension. 💡Central Pivot – Provides load equalization resulting in enhanced traction and mobility allowing the suspension to move and adapt as operating conditions change, helping maintain stability and control. 💡Tandem Drive Axles – Working together, the tandem axles help maximize traction and support higher payload capacities in demanding applications. The result is a suspension solution engineered to help vehicles handle challenging terrain, heavy loads and tough vocational environments with confidence. More than a century later, the fundamental principles of the walking beam remain a cornerstone of heavy-duty suspension design. #WalkingBeam100 #EngineeringExcellence #HeavyDutyPerformance

In 1926, Magnus Hendrickson changed the future of trucking with a deceptively simple idea: the walking beam suspension. At his Chicago shop, the 62-year-old engineer studied the issue from a different perspective. Instead of accepting the limitations of existing designs, he reimagined how tandem axles could work together. His answer was the walking beam suspension – an equalizing beam mounted between the rear axles that kept all four drive wheels working as a team, sharing the load and maintaining traction across uneven terrain. 🌟The breakthrough didn’t come from a large engineering laboratory. It came from a family-owned company willing to challenge convention. The result was a triumph that helped trucks carry heavier payloads, travel farther, and tackle the toughest vocational applications. A century later, the walking beam remains one of the most influential suspension designs in the history of commercial transportation – a testament to Magnus Hendrickson’s engineering vision and Hendrickson’s legacy of innovation. #WalkingBeam100 #HendricksonHistory #ReliableByDesign

CVSA Brake Safety Week is just around the corner! From August 23-29, inspectors across North America will be checking commercial vehicles, with a special focus on the condition of brake drums and rotors. ⚠️Safety tip: Even air disc brake systems require routine maintenance and inspections - Hendrickson recommends replacing brake rotors when they measure 37 mm (1.46") or less and brake pads when the friction material reaches 4 mm (0.16") or less. When measuring rotor thickness, avoid the outer edge of the rotor, as the lip can affect the reading. A few minutes spent inspecting your brakes today can help reduce unexpected downtime and prepare your fleet for inspection. #BrakeSafetyWeek #CVSA #FleetMaintenance #BrakeSafety
