“Let’s be spending our energy on making sure we have alignment [on AI] with our leaders, clarity with our employees and a future where we all get to win together.” - A CHRO last night Mother Nature could have turned last night into a rainy, stormy bust. Instead, it was a blast! 🎉 THANK YOU to every leader who made it out to Riverpark in Kips Bay to be together with peers for the Gartner C-Level Communities New York CHRO Inner Circle Dinner. We ate, drank, laughed, heard a lot of French and global accents, and got serious to discuss "Human Leadership on the AI Frontier." Thank you to our summary partner Surojit Chatterjee and table leaders Anthony M. Cydylo, NACD.DC, Chantal Veillon, Manuela Montagnana, Sandra Auffray, Andrew Wise, SPHR, Bill Baker, Christine Esteban, Lani Montoya and Tchernavia Rocker. Donna and Jemar won longest commutes from west of the Hudson with two hours and 1.5 hours, respectively, for a three hour dinner. 🏅 🚗 Thanks also to the sponsors who made the night possible: Ema, LHH, Guild, SAP SuccessFactors and Fuel50. Emma Knobbe, content manager, was there in spirit and Alex Harrison kept our logistics running smoothly as always. If you attended, look out for a thank-you email coming later today in your inbox with your well deserved SHRM credit hours and the takeaways/key themes. What's next? ✔️On October 8, join your peers at The Standard, High Line for a dinner for CHROs, seniormost heads of function. ✔️Gartner for HR will host the HR Symposium Xpo in sunny Orlando October 26-28. 🎇On December 15, join us for the biannual CHRO Summit at Convene 360. If this dinner was a blast, then prepare for fireworks in December! "What are my shifts this week?" For a frontline worker, this question used to mean logging into three systems and writing to a manager. But Ema pulls it straight from the source, and is able to flag shifts that changed or haven’t been confirmed yet. Ask her to submit a timesheet, and she checks the clock-in data against reality first — a shift that runs 1.5 hours long, a day with no clock-out — and asks before submitting, not after. Ask what happens to your pay if you take next week off, and she doesn't just say "approved." She tells you PTO covers the days, but you'll still lose your weekend premium and night differential — money most systems would let you find out about on the paycheck itself. This is a truly agentic AI employee working for frontline workers—not just the front office. Coming soon.

We are thrilled to welcome Nanjappa Palekanda to Ema's Customer Advisory Board. Nanjappa Palekanda is VP, Global HR Strategy & Enablement at General Motors. Before GM, he was VP of Talent Experience & Operations at Netflix, held HR leadership roles at Uber focused on people operations, risk, compliance, and M&A, and started his career across HR and technology roles at Google and Infosys. He has spent his career inside the people-operations engine rooms, solving HR service delivery, risk, and scale before most enterprises knew those problems were coming. That is exactly the bridge every enterprise adopting agentic AI needs to build: the operating discipline of a hypergrowth company, applied to an organization built for a different era entirely. His counsel will be pivotal as we build the next generation of work. Welcome, Nanjappa, to Ema's Customer Advisory Board.

We're thrilled to welcome Ateet Jayaswal and Kenny Kesar to Ema's Customer Advisory Board. Between them, they've shaped Wipro's AI transformation across HR, IT and finance, at enterprise scale. AI employees now run across HR, IT, Payroll, and shared services at Wipro for over 240K employees. This may be one of the largest scale agentic AI deployments across people functions today. With more organizations aiming to transform how HR and IT teams work together with AI effectiveness, we've thrilled to have advisors on our board who have done this — at scale — because we believe this opportunity exists for every enterprise right now. It is the bar we're holding ourselves to make happen. Ema's AI Employees for HR, IT, and Finance are built for humans to work alongside—not worked around. They take on the work that people never wanted to do in the first place. We believe Ateet and Kenny are going to be pivotal as we build the next generation of work. Ateet is the Chief Culture & Employee Experience Officer at Wipro, where he leverages technology to shape employee experience across 65 countries. Before Wipro, Ateet spent 16+ years at GE. As a VP, he led the HR business partnership function for GE Digital and has served as CHRO for GE Digital in Asia, and CHRO, Wipro GE joint venture. He is a graduate of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. Kenny Kesar is Global Chief Information Officer at Wipro, where he runs enterprise IT. His mandate at Wipro is to embed agentic AI into core enterprise workflows, with measurable ROI attached. Before Wipro, Kenny spent 12 years at SAP, most recently as Vice President of Business Transformation Services and Chief Architect. He began his career at Oracle. Ateet and Kenny complete two halves of the bigger picture — what it takes to make AI work for people, and what it takes to make AI work at scale. Welcome, Ateet and Kenny, to Ema's Customer Advisory Board! Amee Desjourdy Mercedes Chatfield-Taylor Doug Robinson Rishad Tobaccowala Jason Averbook

We’re adding some amazing leaders to Ema's Customer Advisory Board over this week, with a super exciting announcement today—as Amee Desjourdy joins us. Amee Desjourdy is Chief People Officer at Fortive, where she leads the company's people strategy, helping build high-performing teams and a culture that accelerates growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. She has more than 30 years of experience across technology, industrial, and healthcare sectors, she has guided large-scale business transformation efforts, improved organizational performance, and pioneered AI-enabled solutions that enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and enterprise growth. Her most recent leadership experience includes CHRO roles at Hitachi Ltd., Brightcove Inc., and Global Partners LP. Amee believes innovation depends on more than the right tools—it depends on whether people and teams feel safe enough to use them well. She believed this long before there was evidence that this is the major concern facing enterprises adopting agentic AI right now. The companies that are succeeding are going deeper into what can really unlock more for their teams, which is a bar we hold ourselves to too. Ema's AI Employees for HR, IT, and Finance are built to be worked alongside, not worked around. They are meant to take on work that people never wanted to do in the first place. Amee's counsel will be pivotal as we build the next generation of work. She brings a people leader's clarity on what makes new ways of working actually take hold. Welcome, Amee, to Ema's Customer Advisory Board!

Their old model was rigid chatbots with too many escalations. But now Ema solves tickets end-to-end—with upto 95% accuracy, and under 10% human escalations. 1M+ calls, 15+ languages, 90–95% resolution accuracy, under 10% human escalation. Fast, secure, enterprise-grade agentic AI in action. Learn how NTT DATA is using Ema's voice AI employees to rebuild the enterprise service desk — starting with a Fortune 100 global insurer. Voice is the most natural way people ask for help when something's broken. But IT service desks still run on rigid phone menus or rule-based interactions. NTT DATA is one of the world's largest application and infrastructure providers. Thye're now using Ema as a full-time Voice AI Employee at the front line for its enterprise clients' IT service desks — starting with a Fortune 100 global insurer. Their team had already tried the usual AI chatbots and found them unnatural. But Ema’s HR & ITSM AI employees work differently: Ema starts with the right follow-up questions to find the root cause, then executes the fix herself — in 15 languages, with up to 95% accuracy. The result? 1M+ calls and 90–95% of queries resolved end-to-end, with fewer than 10% of callers asking for human escalation. This is what fast, secure, enterprise-grade agentic AI looks like in action. Read our full case study at the link below.
