For Rebecca Agrait Pepper, work means turning requirements from People, Payroll, and Finance into systems that run reliably at scale. She spoke with us about why she joined EarnIn and what Women's Equality Day means to her. Why did you decide to join EarnIn? After time in both tiny and large tech, I was craving a tangible connection to our communities. Demystifying access to wages felt innovative. I wanted to be around big thinkers working on this every day. Can you describe your role at EarnIn and what a typical day looks like for you? I lead the Enterprise Business Platforms team. Our job is to take requirements from People, Payroll, Finance, and others and turn them into something that works in the system, reliably and at scale. I protect the first post-waking hour as "quiet morning time." Meditate, journal, strong coffee, and set my intention. No news, social media, or Slack until that's done. Once I sit down at my desk, I scan for anything blocking others, then tackle my top 3 priorities before meetings take over the day. I use AI to double-check I haven't missed anything and drop tasks straight into time blocks rather than hoping time appears later. I've been working in movement and screen-free thinking time — it's paying off in clearer thinking. What does Women's Equality Day mean to you personally, and how does working in engineering and technology shape the way you connect with it? I think of my grandmother, one of 12 children, no schooling past grade school, yet endlessly optimistic and hungry to learn. Her phrase was "no le hace," no matter, meaning: go for it anyway. Engineering and tech leadership have historically skewed male, whereas leadership in People and Talent functions tend to skew female. Your role recently transitioned into the STEPS (Security, Technology Enablement, and Platform Services) organization from PxT. How are you finding this repositioning of your role? It's been a bit of a plot twist going from meetings that were 99% women to ones where I'm sometimes the only one — LOL. But the welcome has been genuine, and I already knew leadership champions minorities and diverse ways of thinking. That's continued to show up in practice. We're making this team our home. What advice would you give to women who are building their careers in engineering or technology? Step outside your job description. It should expire constantly as customers and the work change. Find a problem that excites you and nerd out on it. If you have what it takes to learn, you're already halfway there. Be curious and raise your hand — don't worry about the title. And advocate loudly for yourself. For those of us already here, women, men, and nonbinary colleagues alike, the responsibility is to take risks on people and create opportunities for others. Rebecca's advice: raise your hand, don't worry about the title. See what's open on our Careers page. #WomensEqualityDay #WomeninSTEM #LifeatEarnIn #EmployeeSpotlight

New data out today shows what happens when workers can access their pay through our Live Pay product: users cut overdraft and NSF fees by roughly $200 a year on average, with some of the highest-fee customers saving over $1,000 annually. Live Pay customers have also seen their credit scores climb by more than 21 points in their first four months of usage. Live Pay streams a portion of one’s earnings in real time through the EarnIn Card, so pay works the way people actually live instead of waiting on an outdated biweekly cycle. As a Software Engineer on EarnIn's Data Exchange team in Bangkok, Krantharat Krongsiriwat helps power the financial data infrastructure that our ecosystem relies on. She spoke with us about her role and the impact her work has downstream. Can you describe your role at EarnIn and what a typical day looks like for you? - A typical day starts with our stand-up, where we sync on progress, flag blockers, and map out cross-functional collaboration. My time is split between coding blocks and collaborating on architecture and technical design. I also participate in operational reviews where we track data metrics and infrastructure costs, as well as monthly retrospectives to improve our team's processes. What has stood out to you most since joining the Data Exchange team in Bangkok? - What has stood out to me most is the downstream impact of our data pipelines. We are responsible for the financial data that powers the EarnIn ecosystem. If our data isn't accurate, core functionalities like a user's ability to cash out are affected. Knowing that the quality of our engineering impacts our customers' financial health is motivating. Why should others consider joining EarnIn? What makes it a unique and rewarding place to work? - We aren't just great teammates inside the office; we’ve built strong friendships outside of work through shared activities. This personal connection translates into a collaborative, high-trust environment where everyone feels empowered to do their best work together. Thailand National Mother's Day, celebrated on August 12th, honors the birthday of the late Queen Mother, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. What does this day mean to you? - This day is a reminder to reflect on the care my parents have invested in my life. It’s a time to feel grateful for their guidance and the values they instilled in me. Celebrating this day on the Queen Mother's birthday emphasizes the importance of honoring our roots, celebrating our support systems, and showing appreciation for the people who lift us up. Is there a memory with your own mother that captures what this day means to you? - Having lived independently for many years, I became self-reliant and occasionally forgot to lean on the support system I had at home. A memory that captures the meaning of this day happened during a period when I was going through a standard life transition. I casually shared what was going on with my mother, nothing major to me, but her caring response made me realize just how closely she was watching over me, even from a distance. EarnIn's Data Exchange team and become part of a support system that directly impacts our customers' financial health every day. As a People Partner supporting EarnIn's India team, Pranav Kumar JS helps shape a culture that's inclusive, people-centric, and rooted in collaboration. When it comes to life outside the office, Pranav takes us home to Kerala — where the summer monsoon brings rain, rituals, and some of his favorite memories. Why did you decide to join EarnIn? I was looking for an opportunity where I could continue working in an inclusive, supportive, and people-centric culture. It also offered the chance to contribute to meaningful work and collaborate with talented teams. Can you describe your role at EarnIn and what a typical day looks like for you? I'm a People Partner supporting EarnIn's India team. I partner closely with leaders to align people strategies with business goals, support our people, drive people initiatives, and lead DIB efforts to foster an inclusive and engaging workplace. Can you describe the significance of the summer monsoon season in India and how it impacts daily life? I'm originally from Kerala, a state that's famous for its beautiful monsoon season, so it's always been close to my heart. During the monsoon, daily life naturally adapts—travel plans, outdoor activities, and even routines often revolve around the rain. But for me, that's part of its charm. I love the cooler weather, the lush greenery, and the sense of calm that the rains bring. Even today, the monsoon reminds me of home and the slower, more mindful pace of life that comes with the season. Is there a monsoon memory that captures what this season means to you? One of my favorite monsoon memories is playing games with friends in muddy fields, completely soaked by the rain and not caring about getting dirty. We'd head home drenched, laughing about the day's adventures, and end it with hot tea and snacks. Those carefree moments perfectly capture what the monsoon means to me—fun, friendship, and making memories that have stayed with me ever since. Are there any traditions your family practices during the monsoon season, and how do they influence your life personally or professionally? We don't have any specific family traditions during the monsoon, but growing up in Kerala, the season always brought people together. It was a time to enjoy local boat races, spend more time with family and friends, and appreciate the beauty of nature. Those experiences taught me to slow down, value meaningful connections, and enjoy the simple moments in life—something I still try to carry into both my personal and professional life. EarnIn's people are what make it special, and stories like Pranav's are proof. Explore open roles on our Careers page to see how you can be part of what's next. #LifeatEarnIn #EarnInIndia #Hiring

As a Site Reliability Engineer, Jayant Aggarwal turned his internship into a full-time offer by owning production work from day one. He spoke with us about the project that shaped how he works, why he joined EarnIn, and the advice he'd give his first-week self. 1. What's one project from your internship that shaped how you work today? Building the Linkerd testing suite. Instead of writing one big monolithic test, I broke it into three independently runnable sub-workflows — control plane health, mTLS verification, and authorization policy. That instinct to decompose a complex problem into smaller, independently debuggable pieces now shapes how I approach almost everything. If it can't be run or tested in isolation, I want to know why. 2. Why did you decide to join EarnIn? The tech stack pulled me in first — Kubernetes, GitOps, service meshes at scale. But what really sold me was the stakes. EarnIn moves real money for people living paycheck to paycheck, which means platform reliability isn't an abstract SLO target. It has a direct human consequence. I wanted to work somewhere where "the infra went down" actually meant something. 3. For students eyeing an EarnIn internship, or alumni thinking of returning, what makes EarnIn a rewarding place to start and grow a career? You own real things from week one. I wasn't working on a sandbox project, I was authoring production test workflows that ran against live cluster upgrades and caught genuine regressions. The team treats you like an engineer, not a visitor. The breadth of the stack also means you'll learn something new every week whether you planned to or not. 4. What surprised you most about working at EarnIn, compared to what you expected going in? How fast you're trusted with real decisions. I expected weeks of reading documentation and shadowing people. By week two I was designing the architecture for how tests would be structured across the entire workflow library. The team's default mode of "here's the problem, what do you think?" was something I genuinely didn't see coming. 5. What advice would you give your first-week self? Ask more questions than feel comfortable. I spent the first few days being careful not to look like I didn't know things, which is exactly the wrong instinct. The questions you're too embarrassed to ask in week one are the ones that would've saved you hours of going in circles in week three. Nobody here is keeping score. At EarnIn, we trust our engineers to tackle real-world problems from day one. If you're ready to make an impact, explore our open roles and join the team.

Shourya Kothari's year-long internship at EarnIn just turned into a full-time role. He spoke with us about the SRE project that shaped how he works and the moment leadership made him feel seen. 1. What's one project from your internship that shaped how you work today? I worked on a SLO automation project when working as an SRE intern, which made me understand how people prioritise their time and taught me what cross-team communication looks like. 2. Why did you decide to join EarnIn? Through my yearlong internship journey at Earnin, the varying backgrounds and ease of communication with my colleagues helped me improve the way I think and approach problems in general. 3. For students eyeing an EarnIn internship, or alumni thinking of returning, what makes EarnIn a rewarding place to start and grow a career? The work culture at EarnIn is amazing and people trust you to do the work, so it's easier to make more impact. 4. What's a moment from your internship — big or small — that made you realize EarnIn was where you wanted to build your career? Ram personally talked to the interns and asked what problems we were facing. The fact that he remembered each intern made us feel seen and important. 5. What advice would you give your first-week self, now that you've come full circle with a PPO? Ask more questions, don't be afraid to not know something. EarnIn is growing—join us to do work with visible impact. Explore open roles on our Careers page.

Harshil Sharma came to EarnIn expecting tight deadlines and pressure at every turn. Instead, he found a culture of ownership, open feedback, and leadership that actually listens. He spoke with us about when he knew EarnIn was where he wanted to build his career. 1. What's a moment from your internship — big or small — that made you realize EarnIn was where you wanted to build your career? The fact that the leadership listens to you and takes your feedback. You're given ample opportunity to present yourself and your ideas openly, without holding back. 2. For students eyeing an EarnIn internship, or alumni thinking of returning, what makes EarnIn a rewarding place to start and grow a career? The first and foremost would be the people and culture. The way that your seniors or manager or even the leadership treats you itself becomes the motivation to work harder and deliver. Despite everyone being geographically far, they're all just a Slack message away. If you are starting new this might be a perfect place for you to learn and grow. 3. What surprised you most about working at EarnIn, compared to what you expected going in? I had expected that there would be very tight deadlines, everyone breathing down your neck to make sure you complete your tasks. But here you get room to breathe, you take ownership of your work, and you set your own goals - which makes it feel like you're building or working on something of your own. 4. What advice would you give your first-week self? Do not hold back in asking for help or questions and try to learn from everyone as much as possible. Also do not miss any office party or dinner - they are great :) Explore open roles on our Careers page to see how you can be part of what's next at EarnIn.

Tanay Rajesh Garde turned his summer internship into the start of his engineering career. He spoke with us about the projects that shaped him, the moment he knew EarnIn was where he wanted to build his career, and what he'd tell his first-week self now that he's come full circle. 1. Why did you decide to join EarnIn? I was very interested in software engineering as a college student. EarnIn helped me transform that into engineering work at large scale. As a beginner, it was wonderful to solve tough problems by collaborating with colleagues who helped me grow into my role. 2. What's one project from your internship that shaped how you work today? The HomeState Automation Framework I developed for the major part of my internship. Writing an event driven testing framework for an important state engine got me acquainted with the complex logic behind the business. It helped me form a thorough understanding of software systems and drive my work today. 3. What surprised you most about working at EarnIn, compared to what you expected going in? In the first two weeks itself, I had ownership of the work I was doing and my feedback on team projects was considered without bias. It was nice to have that voice to present myself, as an intern working with multiple senior developers. 4. What advice would you give your first-week self? People here are more than ready to answer any questions. Talk with more teams. It’s amazing how people working across varied domains such as engineering, finance, product, leadership, and management come together to drive EarnIn. EarnIn's team is growing, and Tanay shows what's possible when curiosity meets opportunity. Explore open roles on our Careers page.
