As a first-generation college student balancing a full-time job and a full-time course load, I often struggled to understand what I needed to do and where to turn for help. I had to run straight from campus to work, so access to support in the evenings or on weekends would have made a world of difference for me. If colleges want to meet students where they are and support their path from enrollment through completion, student support has to extend beyond 9 to 5. Our research shows that 82% of the time when a student uses a chat agent it is outside of regular business hours.
