Breaking down language barriers with technology. During a recent traffic stop, a Redmond Police sergeant used the AI-powered, real-time translation feature available through an Axon body-worn camera to communicate with a Portuguese-speaking driver. The technology provides two-way, real-time voice translation in more than 50 languages, helping officers communicate more effectively when a language barrier exists. With the feature activated through the body-worn camera, officers can speak naturally while receiving instant translations, all while the camera continues recording. The future is here…… Axon Virtual Reality Headsets & equipment has arrived. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Training Bureau over the next several weeks will begin the process of phasing this equipment & training into the work force. With literally thousands of virtual scenarios, training can be both proactive and fit the needs of the department. In one 30 minute session an officer or supervisor can interact dozens of times in a real world situation with feedback & metrics given. Excited to see the changes as we move the needle forward with both ideas and technology.
